Public Schools, Television, Hoolywood, Politicians all used as propaganda tools!
bttt
That's the spirit Allegra!
It's their organizing principle...Communism, Islam, Hinduism, and occasionally Christianity have all been used to excuse hate and anger.
And all get people into the belief mode that the ends justify the means.
Post colonialism, conflict of values, local corruption, real injustice and manipulation by religious leaders who have their own agendas are all playing a role here.
Islam is particularly easy to manipulate this way, but the response of hate is buried deep in the human soul.
They think CNN is a credible news agency?
But I wouldn't be surprised if he calls in, if he can.

France Ready To Send Soldiers to Lebanon
18:30 Aug 10, '06 / 16 Av 5766
(IsraelNN.com) France has announced it is ready to send its soldiers to join a proposed international force to patrol southern Lebanon and keep out Hizbullah terrorists.
The initiative comes simultaneously with Paris's intensified efforts to hammer out a cease fire draft resolution. The United States has objected to attempts to satisfy Arab nations, who want the resolution to demand that Israel withdrawal its troops, even before multi-national force is present.

If I were Israel, I wouldn't trust them, even if they are Foreign Legionaires, because the French government will always put the Lebanese over the Israelis in any dispute.
Exactly- and like all conspiracy minded people- they foster an US vs THEM mentality...without rallying around some mysterious "THEY"...it falls apart.
Lots of Americans fall into that trap too...just stroll over to DU...
This country is lucky that it hasn't really found leaders that will exploit that us v. them to the point of real revolution...outside of the environmental terrorists, most of them haven't crossed that line into insurgency.
such a boring, slow news day.....
Actually, Islam is more of a cult than a religion. It is an all-controlling system that aspires to be a form of political governance, an authoritarian religious system revolving around clergy who control every aspect of the follower's life, and a self-enclosed world where everything is dictated to you, down the hand you use for personal hygeine purposes. There is no other world religion that is constructed this way, and there is no other world religion that has regarded the sword as the way to spread itself or that has been violent since its very beginnings.
For a lot of people, Islam was probably simply part of the dysfunctional third-world country in which they found themselves and they probably didn't reflect on it very much or even practice it very dilgently. But for dissatisfied young people or losers of any type, it acts just like any other cult, making them feel that they are special, entitled to hate or kill because of their specialness, and controlling every aspect of their lives to this end. Paradoxically, of course, they are dissatisfied because of the dysfunctionality of their cult-controlled cultures, which prevent all human creativity and progress. But their response is to try to exterminate everything outside of the cult.

Heck - if I were France, I wouldn't trust them either.
Good morning all. Kind of late getting here.
I think I'm a bit shellshocked. I'll be mostly weaving today, and reading along as I can.
Prayers for all our loved ones who need to travel, especially those who are coming 'home.'

President Bush live now.
I have packed three boxes this morning...not enough. I'll have to get to work soon.
Did you hear the president? I'm working..lurking now- read on another thread he seemed grim...
(Go Israel, Go! Slap 'Em Down Hezbullies.)
I heard the President. He was very brief and didn't talk a lot. My impression is that something is up. He seemed to have be in pain.
Hopefully when whatever finally happens, may this country pull thru and take off the gloves.
