Can you imagine the morale in the front line units with soldiers dying right now but not allowed to apply overwhelming force for victory ?

They have disgraced the IDF, and in so doing, endangered the nation of Israel. No one can trust in their decisions now.

Watching and listening to President Bush, Michael Chertoff, Rudi, Tony Snow and other men of wisdom and honor today reminds me that we're just like the group of blind men describing an elephant, and all we're able to feel is on toenail.
I only got to watch a few minutes of Obsession the other night, and now my link is dead, but the little I saw showed how vast this network of haters is. The response to that network in defense of the West must be carefully constructed and executed.
We're not going to defeat Islamofascism with skirmishes here and there. Israel can't take on Hezballah and have that fight remain in the geographical confines of southern Lebanon.
We are truly looking at a world war, with many fronts, many genrals, many unidentifiable enemies. Many months are needed for preparation and execution, not a few hot summer months.
And I guarantee you that Sheperd Smith will be nowhere near the front lines, nor privy to final plans or timetables.
We are truly armchair generals, and while I think we all mean well, getting ourselves in a lather here is not going to contribute to the effort in a meaningful way. I think Krodg is right, the best thing we can do is pray, and keep the planners, the fighters, and those who will lose loved ones in the battles in our hearts and thoughts.
We need to stay informed, so we can write, call, and vote effectively, but we needn't sacrifice our health, our sanity, or our families' day-to-day lives to our adrenalin spikes.
Forgive me for sounding preachy, I'm half way writing this down so I can reread it in the morning and remind myself to keep some perspective, no matter what may be the next steps. :-)

It is a good thing cellphones weren't checked on 9/11...or we might not have known what we do know...and Flight 93 might have ended up in the White House.
The idea of the devasating effect on their morale is heart wrenching to me. Truly.
We used to roast marshmallows in Girl Scouts for S'mores...I like the burned part of the marshmallow best myself.
But, now, if I eat marshmallows..usually in hot chocolate...they have to be stale.

He's not totally wrong...There's a lot of unwillingness in the west to deal with islamofascism...and to admit the man in the Arab street is sympathetic to, if not actively supporting, the Islamofascist POV, and our government tiptoes around the pc war rules too, lest the press gets too upset.
It's like how we're responding to the airport security. Instead of profiling, we make everybody go through the same rigorous checks, when grannies in their wheelchairs ought not even be considered, especially when we know it is young Pakistanis, for instance.
The huge price we are willing to pay for being PC....the huge price the ME has been willing to pay by using the existance of Israel as a way to keep their people from looking at how corrupt or bad the local governemnt is, and by inculcating that viewpoint, let it get reinforced over decades by preachers, to the point where nearly all the terror type violence in the world is done by Islamics....
