'Plot to blow up planes' foiled [UK TERROR THREAT LEVEL RAISED TO IMMINENT{U.S.raised terror level)

A major terrorist plot to blow up planes in mid-flight has been disrupted by police, Scotland Yard says.

It is thought the plan was to detonate explosive devices smuggled on board aircraft in hand luggage.

During the night, police arrested a number of people in London after a counter-terrorist operation they said had lasted several months.

Police believe the attacks would have been particularly targeted at flights from the UK to the US.

The Department for Transport said security at all UK airports has been increased.

Passengers on all flights will not be allowed to take any hand luggage on to any flights in the UK.

Only the barest essentials - including passports and wallets - will be allowed to be carried on board in transparent plastic bags.

I work for a company that takes people to and from Sea-Tac Airport. Our phones have been non-stop all day! It's insane!
I'm tired, and all this extra work is due to thoise IDIOTS over in Jolly Ol' England who decided to attempt to become martyrs.

I beg to differ. The Democrats don't need Bush in the White House to go into their "spin and minimalize threats" routine.

We were all subjected to the same routine during the Great Clintoon's regime. I think that's one reason it's so easy for the public to rationalize, falsely, that terrorism just reared its ugly head during the present Bush administration--never before! Democrats are so determined to convince us that everything is so hunky-dory during their terms in power that they are willing to ignore EVERYTHING that might be construed as "negative". If that means endangering all of US, so be it.

Most Americans were blissfully unaware of just how vulnerable we were. Clinton was VERY effective at hiding the terrorist threat from the American public---an easy task, I imagine, when you can lie so effectively about everything else.

I got it from a link on a thread about the catching of some of the terrorists. One of them was born in England to an Iranian born man and his English wife. His last name is Savant; his first name used to be Oliver, but he took a bunch of Arabic first names.

And yet, at the same time, complaining that President Bush "isn't doing enough to deter terrorists". It's really to bad they can't hear themselves. If they could, they would know just how ridiculously duplicitous they sound. Dim Dems seem to contradict themselves at every turn---and deny historical facts.
