Can't link to the source, but - despite the headline - this is a really good story on how a city should first pay for a giant robotic parking facility, or suffer the consequences.

At the end of the article it explains that the city and company worked out a settlement.
So now it only eats guitars.

This story is that of a poor contracting between two parties. Haunting for me, for contract creation and management is my life in cubeville.

Sounds like some idiot in the city government forgot to read the EULA when they installed ParkingGarage 1.0.

In the course of a contract dispute, the city of Hoboken had police escort the Robotic employees from the premises just a few days before the contract between both parties was set to expire. What the city didn't understand or perhaps concern itself with, is that they sent the company packing with its manuals and the intellectual property rights to the software that made the giant robotic parking structure work. I love it. The Gov't tried to "bully" and got screwed!
