I use Firefox with image zoom, once I blow it up to 400% the manipulated pixels appear as square blocks five times bigger then the other pixels around them.
The area around the guy in the hat has some fine detail work done to it as if they paid special attention to getting smoke around him right.
The man in the hat has a halo of fine pixels around him, like he has been implanted into the picture.
I had looked at that particular photo earlier when I googled the photographer's images...
There are a couple of suspicious areas, but nothing certain..... I'd have to have a higher resolution file to tell for sure. But if it is faked, it is a much better job... either done by someone more skilled, or at least less hurried.
There is very blue sky in the smoke and at the top of the building it seems different.
Also, I think the smoke was rotated 90 degrees clockwise.
this one seems legit.
taken with a wide-angle lens from a low POV, creating a significant upwards single vanishing-point perspective which makes stuff quite difficult to fake.
