I am watching the news, and I see reporters showing the exact position where rockets are landing in Israel.

I spent 13 months on the DMZ and I'm telling you Charlie adjusted fire on everything they could fire at us. And as a cannon cocker who fired countless counter battery missions, I know when fire is being observed and adjusted, not just being bracketed.

With today's communications capability anything is possible almost instantly which the original poster didn't think was possible.

I posited previously, a dare. I'd like any of the naysayers to join me in an experiment. They can stand up to 250 feet away from me, and my stack of 20 GROSS (144x20= 2880!) bottle rockets.

They are "Black cats", and have a fairly even climb, and explosion. I have a bunch of friends that have some, too. They'll give me some more, when I run out. I can probably only hit you with every 20-30th one. They aren't guided, either. I just aim, and light.

I will fire some at you, and you just stand there. I'll even do it blindfolded, if a friend of mine can watch from the hill, and yell down to me!

How about if I substitute a potato cannon?

My dare is worth a C-note, if you'll even let me fire the first one. Don't try to fire on me, though.

Frankly, I'd blow you away before you got the first one lit! I'd use something a little stronger. It starts with .308, and ends with Winchester.

I wouldn't say everyone is slanted. However, during the last three weeks there has become more of a human side to this which has favored the Lebanese and Hezbollah. It is probably inadvertent but it is happening.

Israel's military responses have been harsh. Hezbollahs attacks on civilans has been "record setting". And over the last three weeks, the word "terrorist" is being used less and less by Fox reporters. What has changed?

I understand everyone is working hard to report this as objectively as possible. That is fair and balanced.

Maybe it is just me. I don't see this as fair and balanced. I see terrorists who crossed into a sovereign nation, kidnapping soldiers and killing others, cowardly hiding behind civilians and when bombed cry victimhood.

All this while the UN and the world condemn Israel for a disproportionate use of force against a terrorist group who now appears to have the support of the host government.

And a media who is pretty much reporting that Hezbollah is some humanitarian organization that provides services to the Lebanese population.

What I am also not seeing is why everyone in the media seems willing to call for a cease fire on the conditions of Israel stopping the bombing but none on Hizbollah releasing the kidnapped Israelis and disarming.

I agree. Their host government's willing to aid them, why should Hezbollah observe a cease fire? We don't even hear a CONDEMNATION!

OK, I am watching Fox. Nasrallah is on and in the box they had a picture of rubble and four medics had someone on a stretcher.

The stretcher is laid down and you see a photographer go past the stretcher. The man on the stretcher looks yup, gets up and heads to where the photographer was going.

It just doesn't get any better then this.

I hunted 122s in the rocket belt around Saigon at various times from late 1967 until the middle of 1970. I called in arty and ARA dozens of times and I'm telling you that 122s are not cannons or mortars.

They were used then as they are used now. They are pointed at a certain angle in a general direction, lit off and the crew beats feet. That technique is even more important today with modern counter battery systems like the Israelis have than it was then.

Yeah, I understand what you are saying, but I think it was inevitable at first. Those dead babies in Cana made for great film even if the images were staged.

Rules are made to be broken and the Israelis are not sitting back accepting the punishment this time.

My spud gun is accurate to within a few feet at just over a hundred yards so I've got you ranged there, just as Israeli air power and 155s have Hezbollah ranged and are more accurate to boot. They just have to find the launchers and destroy them, as they are doing even as we write.
