‘South Park’ angers Bosnian Muslim leaders

Sarajevo • Bosnian Islamic leaders voiced anger yesterday after a local television station aired an episode of the popular US cartoon South Park depicting Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him).

“The broadcast (of the cartoon) is unacceptable and we condemn it and consider it to be a kind of provocation,” Enes Ljevakovic, head of a Bosnian Islamic council, said.

“According to Islamic tradition, the presentation of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) or any other prophet is unacceptable ... even if their presentation is not sarcastic but in positive light,” Ljevakovic said.

“The cartoon was even censored in the United States ... and that is what the local Bosnian television station should have done as well,” he added.

OBN defended its decision to air the show, saying the cartoon presented prophets in a positive light that could be considered as a lesson in morality.

Some 40 percent of Bosnia’s 3.8 million inhabitants are Muslims. Orthodox Christian Serbs represent about 31 percent, while Roman Catholic Croats account for around 10 per cent.

<"...dhimmitude looks rather fair compared to that."

Well, good luck with that. You'll be the lackey saying, "I for one embrace our new islamic overlords", and you'll probably be one of the first to have your head sawn from your body. But it will be done "fairly", so it's all good...

Actually, it should be:

the pedophile moon worshipper muhammed (may he burn in hell forever between 2 farmer john's hams)

Interet parlance says you don't capitalize to show disdain. I never capitalize islam, muslim, muhammed, etc.

> ergo it should be brought back so we can live in true harmony with Muslims...is that what you are saying?

That's hardly possible, isn't it? Besides, it doesn't have anything to do with Islam, it just shows that secular states have always been a result of evolution.

I'm just fed up with people here underlining the perversion of Islam as a whole from the start when obviously the Christian church needed centuries to overcome most of their flaws. Using religious reasons as an excuse to start military campaigns has been fairly common in history. I admit that radical Islamism shows the Muslim world missed out on some very important developments, and is dangerously uncivilised in these points now. But by demonizing the religion as a whole we come to a point where the logical result can only be conversion or genocide.

But what we need to do is to combat the radical elements while finding a modus operandi with and generally support the moderate elements. This hate talk is just contraproductive in my eyes.

Just because in my eyes theft is a less serious crime than rape, that doesn't mean I'll let somebody steal from me.

Well, exactly the same way that Charlemagne used to spread Christianity in Germany, I guess - the sword.

The creators of South Park produced a film "TEAM AMERICA world police".

This film is a must see for all true freepers. It is available on DVD. Try it. You'll like it.

Sounds like they broadcast the old "Super Best Friends" episode.

The difference being Charlemagne is not Jesus Christ.
He didn't found the Christan religion. Mohamed did for Islam.
And Christ sure as heck did not spread Christianity by the sword.
The exact opposite in fact.
Big difference.

Centuries of inbreeding (continuously marrying 1st cousins) leads to constant paranoria and unexplainable fits of anger. Guess the mooselimbs will just have to go and blow themselves up to martyr Cartman.
