I don't think he'll blink either, just completing the thought.

I have a deep, trusting feeling that Bush/Blair/Olmert-Netanyahu will see this through to the end, because that is the way it MUST be.

Did you guys see Neal Cavuto on Fox last night after his interview with Bush??? He thinks Bush is superman, I've come to that same conclusion.

"He [Peres] said Iran is using Hezbollah and the fight in Lebanon to 'divert attention from their nuclear bomb, which is still their first priority'.

We keep hearing this from seemingly intelligent people but it seems complete nonsense to me.

My attention is more on Iran's nuclear plans than ever and it's more in the news than ever. Do you start a war for such a flimsy goal? Methinks not. As far as Iran is concerned this war got started by "accident". They wanted a little dust-up. Nasrallah thought he could be a hero by getting a prisoner swap but the Israelis wanted to eliminate a strategic threat to their survival. Iran went along with the plan. Big time mistake.

Iran blasts UN for failure to stop Israel-Hezbollah conflict

Posted: Tuesday, August 01, 2006 at 10:18 AM

BEIRUT, LEBANON (AP) -- Iran's foreign minister is blasting the UN Security Council for failing to stop the Israel-Hezbollah conflict. Manouchehr Mottaki told reporters after meeting with the Lebanese president that "the UN Security Council has proven its uselessness and ineffectiveness."

Mottaki also accused the United States, without naming it, of complicity in bringing about the death and destruction caused by Israel's 20-day-old offensive in Lebanon.

Meantime, a senior cleric in Iran is calling on the Muslim states to provide weapons to Hezbollah to fight Israel. The Iranian Students News Agency reports Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati urged Iranians to support Hezbollah through cash payments.

Iran's President Rejects U.N. Resolution

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Tuesday rejected a U.N. Security Council resolution that would give his nation until Aug. 31 to suspend uranium enrichment. Instead, Ahmadinejad insisted Tehran would pursue its nuclear program.

"My words are the words of the Iranian nation. Throughout Iran, there is one slogan: 'The Iranian nation considers the peaceful use of nuclear fuel production technology its right,'" Ahmadinejad said.

The Security Council passed a resolution Monday calling for Iran to suspend uranium enrichment by the end of August or face the threat of economic and diplomatic sanctions.

Ahmadinejad said Iran will not give in to threats from the United Nations.

"If some think they can still speak with threatening language to the Iranian nation, they must know that they are badly mistaken," he said in a speech broadcast live on state-run television.

If I havent been posting, I've been reading these threads. Personally, I think your sarcasm and humor do good to help break the tension. A live thread shouldn't be nothing but raw coverage and analysis. We all have our worries and concerns with this whole situation and where it could be going. Humor is a good stress releaver.

I think we are on the brink.

There is a bridge that still has to be crossed. It may be they've sent a few over it, but the cohort is still waiting to see.
= = =

I'm not sure where we are in the end time scenarios/sequences of things . . .

But it does feel like we are observing a certain level of racheting up of the speed and severity/import of such contributing events and situations.

I could imagine a variety of dramatic things occurring any day . . . But some key things are also clearly at least months if not a few years off. For example, I don't think the New Temple is going to be errected in the next few months and probably not in the next year or 3.

I could imagine Damascus being nuked but I doubt even that will occur in the next few months. Possibly within the next 3 years.

But things are changing and more and more rapidly.

Watch, therefore, watch . . . Look up . . .
