Was Qana Staged? (Banner of Sec. Rice had to be made well in advance)

Was Qana Staged? Cont'd [Jonah Goldberg]

A giant banner denouncing Rice and the "Qana massacre" might have been made a bit too quickly.

I don't want to get too far out ahead on this, but I know we've got a zillion printer-type folks among our readers. Do you guys think such a banner could be made in 2-4 hours (particularly in a supposedly war-ravaged area)?

Update: From a reader:

"Do you guys think such a banner could be made in 2-4 hours (particularly in a supposedly war-ravaged area)?"

Heck no. A designer could throw it together in probably 15 minutes or so, but the longest part would be the printing. Notice how deep the reds and blacks are - this means they didn't just bust it out. I wouldnt be surprised if that job itself (requiring special equipment, as it looks to be printed on canvas or nylon, not merely paper) took 6 hours simply to print.

Also, that puppy would be expensive.

Update II: From a reader:

Nope. Not possible in 2 hours to design, typeset, print, assemble and transport to the site. 24 hours if you're really good to do all the above. I say that as an career commercial artist of 18 years now.

Update III: From another reader:

called a close friend who has a very large printing company in NY with the question.  he called out to one of his technicians as to how long a color 30 foot banner would take to produce.  the response was that it would have to be done by a special machine and that machine would take "5 to 6 hours."     by the way, their rather enormous, state of the art (less than 6 months old) facility doesn't even have the equipment necessary to do it.  so make a guess as to what's available in a war-ravaged area...

Agreed. This could never become Rathergate because the people covering for Hezbollah, from Kofi and the Europeans on down will never, ever, even indirectly, admit the lie.

This is all meant for the benefit of the sheeplike and gullible "Arab Street" we hear about ad nauseum.

Bingo! Intellectually, it's satisfying to see this whole charade torn to pieces, bit by bit, but even if al-Jazeera reported that this was all a set up, no one in the Arab world would believe it. Their hatred for Israel and desire for her annihilation trumps all common sense.

When people are blinded by hatred, they are very easily controlled and manipulated.

The Islamic terrorists were trained by the Soviet Union.

There were never better propagandists...

Hitlers men were pretty good but they didn't convert anyone outside of Germany. Stalins managed to convince the Leftist Intelligentsia around the world that Murdering 40M was a trifle.

and that does not look like paper

It looks like Tyvek.

I.e., the same material that's used on many outdoor advertising boards -- mounted on rollers and then stretched across the face of the board.

Moreover, that's a photographic image of Condi -- not an illustration. The importance of that observation is that it means the engraving and printing had to be absolute state of the art -- and would require a huge, very specialized press.

In the advertising business, I've waited months for such artwork to be created, engraved, printed and delivered. I can't imagine that this job took less than 24 hours -- from delivering the original artwork to production of the finished poster.

And if the print media people who saw this poster didn't recognize the logistics involved, they're really, really stupid...

Maybe its not printed but painted....a hack painter could do it fast

It's photographic. On Tyvek. I'm familiar with the process.

What's Qana 2??

There was another incident like this in Qana in 1996, where an Israeli missile hit a civilian building. The Israelis pulled out after that and Hezbollah claimed victory. They wer trying to recreate the Qana incident in order to recreate the result.

I smell an overwhelming perceived intolerable public reaction backlash toward Israel and we, the U.S. must not blink.

This "backlash" has been beautifully orchestrated by the masters of deception. They are the masters who hire the "outraged" to put on canned demonstrations. That's the way of the dominated in the Middle East. The Arab world makes the Jesse Jackson's and Al Sharpton's of this world pale in comparison with their piddly demonstrations. After all, there's big oil and drug money to pay off the ignorant and desperate in the middle east and line the pockets of the bullys/terrorists. Not much of a fair fight.

Too bad the left is not only cooperating, or at the very least starring as willing dunces, but the leftist media enjoy their roles as willing warlords who sit in the drivers seat of this grand scam of an anti-Semitic war production and gladly spread terrorists propaganda. Once upon a time I relied upon common sense and video proof that terrorists are terrorists. Now there's still a world crowd that believes the emperor has clothes. Go figure....

Include Bill O'Reilly in with the willing MSM dupes on this issue. And we thought he was one of us.

Say they had the poster ready and just added the letters by hand afterwards.

Even if they did, that says the poster was produced in order to propagandize "an atrocity to be named later".

And how could they be sure there would be one...???

Not necessarily - the text could have just been 'Dr Rice stinks!' or something like that. It's just a picture of Dr Race above some mayhem. It would only take a short time to add any text, even if it was not specific to any event or 'atrocity.'

Did you notice that in all the pics, only children died? What, no adults? No adult males?
