We are in real serious trouble, and I'll tell you how and why I know it:

I agree with you. Could you even imagine the amount of bending over the IDF would be doing if we had Kerry/Edwards in office? No to mention in Iraq and on and on. There was devine intervention in my opinion in 2004 by 3.5 million smart Americans.
Antisemitic bias is MSM standard operating procedure. I try to relate it to say Mexico or Canada lobing missiles into our country and how the MSM would react. Hmmm...probably the same way as with the hezzies launching missiles into Israel.
There are two battlefields.
The real one, and the virtual battlefield.
Terrorists cannot be victorious on a real battlefield against a real military.
They cannot take ground, they cannot defend ground, they cannot achieve a military victory, tactical victory, nor even a win strategic positioning.
The only thing a terrorist can do is kill.
They rely completely upon the virtual battlefield to win against any opponent: It's a Propaganda War.
KNOWING that there *IS* a Propaganda War is the first step in defeating terrorists. KNOWING that the Propaganda War is real, and is the only chance for a victory against the US, almost, all by itself, destroys any chance of victory against the US.
Let everybody know that this war, like most of the wars the US has fought since World War II relies upon the Propaganda War more heavily than any battlefield's results.

The simple reason is most people in the west do not believe we are at war.
When that fact is finally driven home by a major western city going up in smoke I think things will change. People will then actually fear for their lives and demand something be done it about with extreme prejudice.

I totally agree, the only way to win against a terrorist is to attrt the terrorist while creating stability in the region they operate in.
Every terrorist killed in Iraq or Afghanistan is one that we won't have to kill over here after he has struck!
I find it unbelievable that the points made in Stein's fine article aren't bleedingly freaking obvious to any sane person (and even some liberals).
Nothing but Jesus Christ himself will be able to COMPLETELY eliminate terrorism.
From my viewpoint there are only 2 ways the terrorist can be completely beaten once and for all. Knock them down and they'll just rise up again later. They need to either
a) be completely wiped out, and the world is too politcally correct to even mouth the words much less carry it out.
b) That Jesus Christ' return proves to them once and for all that there religion was wrong and they bow down before him.

Backing down in a fight like this hasn't done any good in the past; yet we continue to back down thinking the results will be different. All to create the impression that we're "better than the enemy". All because of what Other People will think (hint: there's no "thinking" involved). Let them think (feeeeeeeel) what they want!
It's time we use our power to eliminate the enemy and stop dragging this out. It's not getting any better. When the freaks declared war on us on 9/11 that was pretty much it for me. This has to stop!
If we allow our media and French intellectuals to prevent us and the Israelis from using the means necessary to win, we'll lose...in Lebanon, in Iraq, and everywhere and this civilization is very well worth preserving. Yes, as sad as it would be to use terror tactics to win a war, it would be incomparably worse to lose. At the end of the war we win, there is light. At the end of the war we lose, there is the end.
