QANA, Lebanon - Israeli missiles hit several buildings in a southern Lebanon village as people slept Sunday, killing at least 56, most of them children, in the deadliest attack in 19 days of fighting. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert expressed "great sorrow" for the airstrikes but blamed Hezbollah guerrillas for using the area to launch rockets at Israel. Olmert told U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza that he needed 10 days to two weeks to finish offensive in Lebanon, according to a senior Israeli government official.

Now the White House is saying "The tragic Kana bombing shows the need for Israel to show restraint".
In other words, its "bad for business" and business trumps pricniples and morality.

The calumnious headlines leave out much of the terror Hezbollah is raining down on Israel however word is getting out how that evil group is holding citizens hostage in harms way using them for shields just so news reporters will keep the tally going making it look like Israel is the aggressor. War is about killing, that people are dieing is hardly news.
Israel, bless her, is NOT the aggressor, she is the victim and has been from Jew hating Muslims who continue to torment a little modern country that can feed, clothe, house, educate, a responsible people who work hard and celebrate freedom and liberty in an Islamic world where there is precious little of the above.
It is now down to the wire, Israel will not be tormented any longer from the insane and oppressive Islamic neighbors who are totally at fault here. The Lebanese should have thrown Hezbollah out long ago - now Israel must do it for them and I would hope all the evil and hate filled Mullahs, clerics and other Muslim leaders along with the thugs who call themselves Hezbollah.
So far Hezbollah is using the MSM to their advantage and those useful idiots are allowing it. Don’t fall for this cruel propaganda trying to sway world opinion through body counts - children should have been removed to the north long ago - if they are still there it is because Hezbollah is holding them and their families hostage.
I don't have one bit of sympathy. These mad dogs hide behind women and children, anything to further their political agenda. The women and children of these animals are also infected with the Islamic disease and at least Israel won't have to contend with these rabid idiots when they grow up.
I'm with you. These people were told to leave. They've allowed themselves to be used by their enemy. I have no sympathy for them as they are obviously too stupid to see through the Hezbollah's scam.

As usual, the Christians in the Middle East bear the brunt of these conflicts. Knowing some Lebanese where I grew up, there are an endless number of sad stories, sadly many people just do not understand, and just fall back on cheap rhetoric.
Thats not funny. Lebanon was once a Christian nation. and in fact, most of the 8 million ethnic Lebanese in the rest of the world are Christians, and have sadly had their nation taken away from them.
Some people choose talk radio to make decsions, I choose to look at facts, not rhetoric, and look at leaders such as Pope Benidict XVI.
Maybe all the Christians should move out, while the place is fumigated?

In World War II the United States and Britain killed 64,000 men woman and children in Dresden, Germany. Dresden had zero military value. It was a college town and Churchill hoped to cause the German intelligentsia to call for an end to the war. It did not work.
In World War II the United States Air Force carpet bombed the residential areas of Tokyo with napalm. It was especially bad because the residential areas of Tokyo consisted of wooden structures. The napalm caused such high temperatures that huge fire balls literally blew up people so that there were at most only fragmented bones of residents remaining.
No notice of D day was given to the French living on the Normandy Shores. They had no warning to evacuate and many were killed in the cross fire. D day was a secret and telling the French living in the area would have compromised the secrecy. Secrecy was more important than innocent French lives.
When the battle of Britain started, the German air force was bombing primarily military targets. Especially hard hit were England's aircraft fields and aircraft factories. Churchill was told that if the Germans continued to bomb the military targets the Germans would win the Battle of Britain.
So Churchill ordered the bombing of Berlin. It took a lot of bombers for some to make it through. But they did get through and bombed residential areas of Berlin.
Hitler was so angry that he ordered the bombing of military targets to be redirected to bombing London just as Churchill expected Hitler to do.
That may sound terrible in retrospect but England could afford to lose a lot of civilians and still win, but they could not afford to lose aircraft, and aircraft factories.
When I hear people start to condemn what was done to win WWII, then I will believe that they have the right to condemn Israel.
Its their country also. Its horrible how its been trashed since 1975. Most of the Christians in Lebanon are Maronite and Melkite Catholics, and the Vatican acting on behalf of them has begged for a cease fire.
