I wonder if Russert will ask the Israeli ambassador if he thinks this is all because Bush invaded Iraq?

Thanks so much for this thread each Sunday, AB.

I usually only watch FNS. I may have to watch Gillerman tell timmy how the cow ate the cabbage.

Good Morning AB!

thanks so much for the thread....

I am on a rampant rage of ranting.....

I AM SO TICKED!

I was laying in bed- just lingering on the verge of conscienceness......I could here the TV...(FOX on)

I heard them talking of all the "civilian" deaths.

maybe because I wasn't watching- but just listening- I picked up on it more quickly than I normally would- but I heard the blond bimbo.....she said the following with the biggest smile in her voice.....

"It makes you wuuuuunder just how ENRAGED the Arab nations are going to be............especially since some of them almost defended Israel's right to defend herself."

I couldn't believe my ears! WHAT THE HELL!? IS THIS FUNNY TO HER!?

Is this some little GAME to her? Does she feel like a sybling who has just went and told on her sister and can't wait to see how much trouble she gets into? THAT is EXACTLY what her tone was like...not to mention-- How dare she GOAD Arabs on- into being "ENRAGED." Why not the Arabs should be ENRAGED that HEZBULLAH HIDE under SKIRTS and in BABY CARRIAGES!

Why not the Arabs be ENRAGED that these terrorists incite violence on a daily basis- screaming "Death to America" and "Death to Israel"- march in the streets- talk all tough- then they START this war- and suddenly they are hiding......

I am SO TICKED!

that little blond bimbo is lucky she is NYC........VERY LUCKY! I am sick of the media thinking that this is some kind of joke.

I am sick of the media giving CPR to terrorist and constantly breathing life and hope into the enemy...

costing COUNTLESS lives- of civilians (on both sides of this war) and our troops.....

I am just SICK OF IT!!!!!

Interesting guests on all the shows today. I was very impressed with Gillerman, the Israeli UN Ambassador's speech to the UN a few weeks ago, so I will have to break my 'boycott' of MTP.

While clicking, I notice not one news program made mention of Hellzbolla hiding and attacking from civilian positions.

The warped cowardly terrorist hide behind their own women and children while they attack.

They either get away with it or drag awaiting reporters to see their dead women and children they hid behind.

Neither Russer nor Andrea Mitchell are mentioning that Israel warns civilians to leave areas that the IDF are prepared to bomb.

Neither "reporter" thinks it's important to mention how Hezbollah uses civilians as human shields. Hezbollah is using the mainstream media, and the media is apparently either too agenda-driven or clueless to understand how they are being managed by the jihadists.

MTP

Tim worried that Lebonese couldn't leave "because they didn't have cars" or ways out of the city.

[I'm surprised he didn't relate it to the people in the Superdome in N.O. after Katrina hit. lol.]

MTP

Tim apparently didn't read the memo of the Canadian UN official who was killed, but Tim did reference the Irish UN official.

Gillerman reminds Tim of the contents of the Canadian's email that said Hiz was using the UN outpost as a shield. [IIRC, the Canadian email said that Hiz would be a close as 10 feet in front of the UN outpost while firing rockets into Israel.]

POUND for pound and pounding for pounding, the Israeli military is one of the world’s finest. But Hezbollah, with the discipline and ferocity of its fighters and ability to field advanced weaponry, has taken Israel by surprise. Now that surprise has rocketed back to Washington and across the American military. United States officials worry that they’re not prepared, either, for Hezbollah’s style of warfare — a kind that pits finders against hiders and favors the hiders. Certain that other terrorists are learning from Hezbollah’s successes, the United States is studying the conflict closely for lessons to apply to its own...

Kristol and many of the talking heads are portraying this as a defeat for Israel. It reminds me of the Tet offensive, an overwhelming victory, that the MSM called a defeat. Perception trumps reality. In fact, Hezbullah has suffered a major defeat and opened the door for a major intervention by a multinational force that will included Western countries with the probable writ to implement 1559.

Israel will benefit by having its northern border secured and the Lebanese military is strengthened to take greater control over the country.

MEET THE PRESS:
It is absurd for Tim Russert to ask reporter Richard Engle why there are still civilians, women and childen, in areas where Israel has dropped leeaflets telling them to leave. Engle goes into apologist mode and says, these people are poor, they can't afford cabs to get out of the dangerous places. Russert or Engle should have told viewers Hizzbollah has the resources to move women and children out of harms way. They are loaded with money, and if they didn't want to use them as human shields, as PR fodder, they would have done so.

But Engle does tell Russert that he did see men in the area of the overnight bombing, men with Hizzbolah tattoes, and the people were definitely sympathetic to Hizzbolah.

The shows and papers and blogs are full of mourning for the people who died overnight by Israeli bombs, but no mention Hizzbolah is intentonally trying to kill civilians, and would have already killed thousands, if Israel didn't have good evacuation and warning systems in place.

from the Israeli ambassador; ""ISRAEL NEVER INTENTIONALLY TARGETS CIVILIANS". Has Hizzbolah claimed the same? No, and the MSM should remind their viewers of this.

check the link above to see the map Russert showed the Lebanese envoy proving the Israeli bombing of Beierut has been very selective, and not random or widespread as Lebanon is leading the MSM to report.

Mark Kilmer's review is up at Redstate.COM

The Sunday Show Review

Sunday, July 30, 2006

The deaths at Qana were a big part of this morning's shows, but the most important concept to the hosts seemed to be that Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora had told Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to go away, she was not welcome in Beirut.

On MTP, Israeli Ambassador to the UN Dan Gillerman said that Hezbollah had probably planned to sucker Israel into striking civilians in Qana to thwart any chance of peace. Russert's next guest on MTP, Lebanese special envoy Nouhad Mahmoud, glibly told Russert that he respects Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah; while the two disagree on whether or not Israel should exist, he said, this was unimportant as it was not an issue in this conflict.

Special advisor to Siniora, Mohamad Chatah, basically told George Stephanopoulos on TW that human shields were a legitimate means of warding off attacks on military installations, as there can be no reason whatsoever for killing women and children. Undersecretary of State Nick Burns told Brit Hume on FNS that the battle between Israel and Hezbollah is about Iran. On TW, he told Steph that the DMZ in the south of Lebanon would be from the Israeli border to the Litani River. No setback entered his tone.

Responding to a new anti-Bushie novel by a WashPost reporter, Paul Bremer again explained debathification and the dissolution of the Iraqi army.

On FTN, Lebanese Prime Minister Siniora said that the Israeli strike on Qana ten years ago was called, by the Israelis, "The Grapes of Wrath." His name for this incident is: "The Grapes of Hatred." On the same show, Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Shimon Peres asked of Hezbollah: "What do they want?" The question was rhetorical, no doubt.

On LE, Lebanese Justice Minister Charles Rizk posited that the Israelis had struck Qana because they did not want Secretary Rice to negotiate a cease fire. Nick Burns explained to Blitzer that Secretary Rice had told Siniora that she didn't think now was a good time for her to go to Lebanon, rather than him telling her to get lost.

Read on for the show-by-show review…

10. edpc: #166 So two families of Hezbollah leaders, or two random families who may have been held there to be used as photo op "collateral damage" to "win friends and influence people." In either case it was the fault of the Lebanese government and Hezbollah that this is going on, not the Israelis. No question. I'd be more sympathetic to the victims if they were indeed just people held against their will and used as human shields/propaganda tools. However, I am inclined to believe they were family members of Hezbollah. If that is the case, I wouldn't give the bombing another thought. Given the way these people think and act, it could be considered a strike on future Hezbollah fighters. Either way, you are correct in saying this is the fault of those to the North (and don't forget East) of Israel.

9. Maica: 61. Nic Burns on FNS saying that there are lots of countries that would be willing to send peacekeepers to southern Lebanon! Do you have to park your brains at the door to work in the State Dept? 555 From an article in the Toronto Sun: So, who in the world's up for that job? Canada? Not with our military already stretched to the limit in Afghanistan. The United States? Great Britain? Australia? Impossible. Any of those forces acting as peacemakers in southern Lebanon would become prized terrorist targets themselves, perhaps even more so than Israeli soldiers. The European Union? How effective have most members of that alliance been in fighting terrorism since 9/11? The Arab League? The only thing its members might ever conceivably agree on, if they thought for a moment they could actually win, would be to attack Israel. Fighting Hezbollah in southern Lebanon simply isn't on their radar. Russia? Japan? China? Okay, now it's getting silly, isn't it?

8. Fishtalk # 96 Here I am responding to my own post. But I got a rant and it's off topic. Indulge me a minute. It's about Neil Gabler, I hope I spelled this right, on that awful Fox show about the media. The show comes on right after the Beltway Boys, which I like. Neil Gabler, folks, made me so mad last night I am seriously thinking of beating up on Fox to get rid of him. Not that Fox will listen to me or anything. But last night this awful, awful, NOT a manly man, went on a hate-filled rant that left me speechless. I simply can't describe it and hope that maybe another Freeper out there saw it. He was screaming and spitting and foaming at the mouth, shouting about how everyone should HATE President Bush. It's really time for this nothing guy to go. He contributes nothing useful.

7. Peach: 1#29 Friedman is very good at telling us what Israel should NOT do. But he hasn't said what he thinks Israel SHOULD do in response to attacks on their homeland. It's easy to criticize. The few, very few, times that I've criticized the president, for example, not standing up to the leftist lies that there were no WMD or a prior relationship between Saddam and Osama bin Laden, I've followed that criticism with what I think the president should do. Some concrete suggestions by these pundits won't be forthcoming because a) it's too easy to criticize and being basically lazy, the media will take the easy way out; and b) there are no easy solutions.

6.Eeevil conservative. #221 < guess my first point is that France also has a strong history of loving Yasser........ and my second point is that France has a history of surrender, yes- even in modern days- they have a reputation for being afraid of angry Mulsims...which just so happens to be the population make up of that border (on the Lebanese side)... and thirdly- I don't for a minute feel confident that the border can be secure with FRANCE in charge......In fact- from what I understand- it has been a French General (I think General is the rank) that has been in charge of the UN border operations there before this war broke out. we ALL want a secure border...I just don't have any confidence in the French being able to provide that security. It seems this is the route the world is going-- which makes me very very unhappy- I don't think the French gov't has Israel's best interest at heart. Israel needs a force there that is dedicated to protecting Israel and defeating terror.... since it seems the French will be there- I really would love for you to put my mind at ease...sincerely... please- make the case as to what it is about France that shows France is willing to risk lives and other nations not liking them- in order to truly defend Israel's border

5. Rodguy911 67 Ali is without a doubt the Queen of links! She has them all. I too saw that movie yesterday it's probably not for the faint at heart but it is truly eye-opening about just how serious the Jihadis really are. It's scary to think that possibly 100-200 million think like they do and even more sympathize with them. The muslim communities worldwide have an interesting choice to make in the coming years. With the jihadists/terrorists basically saying "be on our side or be dead," which side will all those moderate muslims we keep hearing aboutchoose? If they chose our side they better be ready to stop letting the terror types use their mosques for bad guy hideouts world wide and they sure as hell better start turning in the bad guys to law enforcement. Otherwise as GW has said so many times if you aid and abet a terrorist, then in effect.......and if you want a perfect example, look at what is going on in Lebanon right now, the non-terror types in Lebanon better stand up and soon.

4. Anita. #315 Sorry for being a bit late. Now, this sunday's Media Nuggets ###### Irony of Fate! - For a looooong time, MSM very badly wanted to put Karl Rove on Jury trial. Last week for a very short time, flurry of phone calls & blackberry hits stunned the media & news outlets with news that FINALLY, Karl Rove is in court for Jury trial, only to realize little later that he was the Jury! Yes, he was selected to the jury pool, along with Madelline Albright. ###### MSM on watch! - Vice President Cheney recently picked a Press Assistant. His job description: "The Press Assistant is responsible for monitoring media for various national security and domestic issues, informing the Press Secretary and Deputy Press Secretary of issues of note and factual inaccuracies in the media." :-) ###### Talking the talk - After helping Hillary Clinton in fundraiser, appearing on the Charlie Rose Show, Rupert Murdoch said that he will NOT support Hillary Clinton in 2008. He 's against gay marriage, abortion & anti-Americanism. ###### Walking the walk? - Clinton(who waives $100000 speaking fee), Hillary, Gore & host of democrats were invited to NewsCorp. gala. ###### Hundreds of troops and veterans from the war in Iraq are blogging world-wide, and many are focused on a common enemy: "Journalists." ###### Media Bits - Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren owns a 144-seat seaside restaurant & an 80-foot yacht. Ann Coulter appeared on CNBC's Donny Deutsch, MSNBC's Hardball, and CNBC's Kudlow all within the span of only three days - Rumor is that Coulter is testing waters whether to accept MSNBC's offer of a show. Bianca Solorzano(former MSNBC host) becomes CBS News correspondent. Tammy Haddad, Chris Matthews' Hardball producer was named MSNBC Vice President. ###### McCain's turn to NewMedia - Patrick Hynes, formerly of CrushKerry.com, now AnkleBitingPundits.com - working for McCain's Straight Talk America. Naturally, some bloggers are upset. Also interesting while McCain was critical of Swift Boat Vets, Hynes was the opposite. ###### Philip Anschutz is favored by the British government to build Britain's first super-casino. Anschutz's Millennium Dome site in London topped a short list of eight proposed venues announced by the government's Casino Advisory Panel. Anschutz is the conservative publisher of Washington Examiner and Examiner chain of newspapers. ###### XM Radio Widens Loss, Losing Subscribers. ###### Time Inc. shutting down the magazine, Teen People. "This is not a joke" section. ###### In the midst of circulation decline, low ad revenue & lay-offs to boost the morale of it's journalists, Los Angeles Times editor offered an unusual morale booster - pony rides. ###### Time magazine announced it's replacement for fired Matt Cooper - Ana Marie Cox (specialist in sex, alcohol, and potty humor & creator of Wonkette website
