Friedman is an idiot. He doesn't get it and never will.
"honest" brokers?
ROFL!!
Where was it that Yasser was flown too?
What country was it that bowed to "youts" rioting in the streets?
yeah- Israel will have NO WORRIES witht he FWENCH on the scene.....
the irony is just TOO MUCH!
Tom Friedman is particularly insufferable this morning. He is even using "air quotes." He talks like I did before I became a grownup. You say things because they sound good and you put a whole lot of energy behinds your silly pronouncements, hoping that will make them sound convincing.
YOU ROCK!
I do agree about Jonathan. Shep is just a drama queen.
I don't listen to Laura's radio show, so this is really the first time I have seen her. I like that she does not let just one side be told. bor has just 'subtly bashed W one too many times for me to have any use for him.
We forget at our peril. I mentioned last week my chat with a British forces broadcaster he has not forgotten 9/11 or other earlier terrorist attacks on Brits and Americans.
When will the world wake and realise that Islam hates Christianity/Jews and the western world we are infidels and that will never ever change.
Friedman is very good at telling us what Israel should NOT do. But he hasn't said what he thinks Israel SHOULD do in response to attacks on their homeland.
It's easy to criticize. The few, very few, times that I've criticized the president, for example, not standing up to the leftist lies that there were no WMD or a prior relationship between Saddam and Osama bin Laden, I've followed that criticism with what I think the president should do.
Some concrete suggestions by these pundits won't be forthcoming because a) it's too easy to criticize and being basically lazy, the media will take the easy way out; and b) there are no easy solutions.
Remember the character Dr. Smith? An evil, sniveling coward who regularly lied and cheated?
If Dr. Smith were a country on this planet....IT WOULD BE FRANCE!
You are making me hungry talking of waffles - strange how in the US you eat them for breakfast and we think of them either as a dessert the same with pancakes.
I heard that on F&F this morning. It is laughable.
ROFLLLLL!!!!
PERFECT!
MWAH!
Shucks, Juan got the last word.
I wish there had been time for someone (Fred) to point out to Juan that, regarding Iran/terrorists, our goal is NOT to "make them throw up their hands and agree that we were right all along".
Our goal is to eliminate their ability to threaten us...period.
France has the third highest number of Jews (600,000) outside of Israel. They also have approx a 10% Muslim population. I think they are an ideal choice to head the multinational force.
BINGO!
DING DING DING!
We have a WINNER!
He lost me with that whole India Muslim prosperity crap. In his Bizzaro World, wealthy prosperous Muslims would not be interested in conflict. Someone remind me: Who is that rich, prosperous Muslim that heads up al Qaeda and what are his aims? I wouldn't be suprised to find some of the people he cited will one day be revealed as major contributors to terror groups.
Russert just promo'd Brian Wilson's NBC show for Monday night.
Wilson said that people are starting to think that Israel has made a big mistake. This is dishonest reporting at the least.
There hasn't been a time that the media hasn't tried to convince viewers that Israel has made a mistake by going after Hezbollah and in the process killing civilians. That's been the template since day one.
Truth is we never ever in our wildest dreams figured any population of citizens, unless they are terrorist sponsors to begin with, would sit by idly while their youth engage in rocket firing at the behest of their religious nut case leaders.
I doubt this was in any recent military play book. But once again, AB just got through saying it, if you support the terrorists you are one and should be treated as such!
