... the United Nations peacekeepers have been patrolling vacated areas in an effort to maintain calm on the ground.

The situation in southern Lebanon is described as relatively quiet, and even calmer than yesterday. The United Nations Force has been maintaining contacts with the Lebanese and Israeli authorities, as well as with the leaders of the armed elements, and have reported that the armed groups are currently taking a measured approach.

Patrolling vacant areas. I guess we can assume those vacant areas are peaceful.

I guess the spokesman could be considered a spokestoosoonman

Patrolling vacant areas.

Does the U.S. have to send another billion to fix that building or will Ted Turner do it?

It's about time!

The UN has never won a war. Why not hold them accountable?

This rioting crowd is showing their true colors aren't they? The Hezzies are stirring this crap up because they are losing! They need time to regroup. Israel has a right to defend itself. This is war, innocent people die all the time. If the Hezzies are using their own families as human shields they deserve nothing but our contempt and a wish for their reunion with allah.

That looks good for the cameras. There was a shot where the hizzy is banging the glass with a board and then he looks at the camera and someone gives him something else to hit the glass with.

Past tense is the operative in this case? Maybe they're patrolling vacant areas because now there's nothing where there once was something?

That is too funny, I was just thinking the same thing! They should just drop bombs on crowds like that.

I watched it. All hopping around pounding their fists in the air. Kinda reminded me of the beginning scene in "2001 - A Space Odyssey" (sp?) where all the monkeys were screeching and hopping around.

Future UN employees. Remember when the NYC UN building was between catering contracts for a weekend?

The employees stole everything from the cafeterias. Food, booze, etc.

And Kofi said "No problem."
