Recently, the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps, Inc. (MCDC), and our fiduciary accountability has been called into question in reports in the Washington Times newspaper. Its editors continue to misrepresent the facts and have purposely based their reports and editorials on information that is inaccurate.
They continue in their attempt to hold us to a different and improperly applied fiduciary standard than any other non-profit in the country. Jerry Seper and Wes Pruden seem not to understand the first, most basic matters of non-profit accounting and regulatory obligation. Further, Pruden absurdly describes Sepers reporting as careful, rigorous when Seper has not spoken to at least two of his three sources on this matter in over a year, and he and his editors deliberately failed to disclose in their innuendos regarding where our money is spent, that tens of thousands of dollars was spent on full-page issues advocacy advertising in the Washington Times itself.
A year ago, people called us racists and vigilantes. We have overcome those falsehoods with an organizational performance of diligence, responsibility and excellent stewardship of the resources entrusted to us by our supporters and volunteers. Our careful spending and high standards in the field, combined with the generosity and faithfulness of our citizen patriot supporters, have allowed us to grow rapidly and effectively, consistent with our mission. This has been accomplished, in part, by aggressive advertising and outreach to people across the country, putting a spotlight on the state of lawlessness at our wide-open borders which our government continues to tolerate......."[snip]
".... The leadership of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps and its officers continue to have full faith and confidence in American Caging, Inc., who acts as our comptroller, and in our other accountability and legal professionals..........."

Yep, they'll find another hot button issue ripe for a fundraising bonanza.
But certain of his critics have their own agendas that they are pursuing here,
And Chris Simcox, and his advocates, are shipping them ammunition. If you're conceding that Simcox "should have taken care of this by now," then you're conceding that the November 15 extension is an unsatisfactory resolution. Simcox will either bleed until then or bleed until he provides the reports before then.
Well, I'm neutral on this issue, but I'll say this: It's amazing that conservatives are upset over possibly mis-spent private donations than they are over the billions of tax dollars wasted annually by the federal government.
There is further evidence, which is his lack of openness and accountability.
I agree he should have taken care of this by now.
Thank you.
But most of those supporting him have said he MUST meet the November 15th deadline. But that isn't good enough for certain people with their own agendas.
I'm not sure why he couldn't have, and shouldn't have, met the May 15 deadline, or the August 15 deadline extension.
He MUST meet the November 15 deadline, because the government will not allow him to put it off any longer than that.
I find it odd that certain inviduals are posting on this subject just about every day, often until wee hours of the morning. That does not indicate normal fiduaciary concern, but an odd obsession that goes well beyond what is stated for the reasons for such concern.
Seems to me that you've been right there until the wee hours.
What I don't understand is why you're continuing to defend him when you also state that it does look just as bad as his critics are saying.
Personally, I support the effort to control the borders, and I do not want to see a lack of honesty and accountability by one man (or one group) undermine the effort.
I'm shocked!
No, I am not. The Inquisition over this is way out of propoertion to the offense. Namely because the agenda of those carrying out this Inquisition is not about the offense, but attacking Simcox's larger movement. The same perps were all over the Minutemen and their border patrols. Ever since the critics were found to be nothing but hot air over those patrols, they have been waiting for the next chance to strike. And now they have it.
I see lots of fair-minded people making a few posts on this. But I see a few folks obsessing on this day after day, posting until 3 in the morning. That is not the hallmark of the concerned. That is the hallmark of someone with their own agenda that they are not willing to openly state.
That is not evidence. You are trying to prove something from a negative there, and fair-minded people understand the logical fallocy of such.
Seems to me that you've been right there until the wee hours.
No, I have not. Show me one time when I posted until 3 in the morning on this subject. Or anywhere even close
And I often go days without posting on this subject. Whereas I can find you and a few other folks on just about every thread, rolling away.
I see your point. I guess what worries me is that money might be unwisely spent by the base on some of these groups instead of going where it could be truly used wisely in the mid term elections.
The "independent contractor" they hired is an attorney in Pennsylvania, who is also the administrative consultant for Diener Consultants, which was founded by Phil Sheldon, who also started Right March with William Greene, who is a broker for Response Unlimited. (These are not very savory characters, and each take a huge cut of the MM donations.)
Simcox agreed he was an amateur, which is why he wanted to hire a professional contractor to build the fence. So, how do you explain him hiring Peter Kuntz, an attorney who lives in Pa., instead of a more local contractor who has experience in building fences?
Complaints about an Inquisition, even to the extent that they are valid, are really a call to change the subject from the glaring liablity that Simcox has become. Defending Simcox only enables his opponents. Their best case scenario is that Simcox continues to hunker down behind his November extension.
There is another reason not just to sit by and wait till Nov 15. The IRS it appears is about to be more aggresive about these Groups that are going into political areas that they are forbidden too. If that stuff is occuring here and it is discovered close to election day or even after the media will have a field day. They will then tar all conservative and Republicans with it.
Or he builds another fence and you start harping on how it's inappropriate to. Just as his critics said it was inapropriate to monitor the border, that he's racist, has gay people working for him, violates the rights of "immigrants", yadda yadda yadda.
The articles posted in the press are mainly rehashes of old news reposted as new.
Yes, I can. On a political level, he should have. On a legal level, he is well within such boundaries.
"I see your point. I guess what worries me is that money might be unwisely spent by the base on some of these groups instead of going where it could be truly used wisely in the mid term elections."
Electing folks who would add to your donor list/labor pool, CFR Open Borders types, right?
I like how you accused me of doing the same but did not deny you were doing the same yourself.
Or the fact that the Senate voted for hundreds of miles of fencing, but then refused to allocate tax dollars for such.
By defending Simcox you're enabling those with the agendas you say you oppose. The longer this goes the worse it will be. Time to cut losses. Think Meiers and Lott.
You know you can worked up over the Council of Foreign relations if you like. I am not big into that because I am not ususally a big believer in Conspiracy theories.
Also, I am concerned about other causes than the border. I am concerned aboout Gun rights, I am concerned about to The Right to Life from the Womb to the Tomb. I am concerned about Free Speech issues. Mainly I am concerned about keeping the Congress in Republican Hands and getting a decent person on the ticket for 08.
It is not helped by sending money to people that spend only 20 cents out of the dollar on the cause they are advocating.
I find it ironic that I keep being accused of advocating open borders nad etc on these Simcox threads when I am constantly trying to move this whole discussion to the bigger picture. But like in the famous line from the Godfather Three As soon as I thought as I was out they keep dragging me back in.
