Dean Says Democrats Will End Iraq Problem
ABC News ^ | July 29 2006

As he campaigned for Republicans running for Congress in West Virginia, President George W. Bush confidently predicted that his party will retain control of Congress — but with his approval ratings mired in the 30s, gas prices topping $3, war spreading in the Middle East and Iraq in turmoil, some in the GOP are nervous.

Democratic leaders, say that they would bring an end to the U.S. presence in the war-torn nation.

"The first thing I think we would do is have a real strategy for how to get out of Iraq," said Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee and former presidential candidate, on ABC News' "Good Morning America Weekend Edition." "We don't need a president who says they're going to leave this to the next president. That's not leadership. It's the kind of thing that got us in there in the first place with no plan."

Although Dean said Democrats would do a better job with Iraq, the public now favors Republicans over Democrats in handling terrorism by seven percentage points, according to the ABC poll.

The Conservatives need to start thinking Unity.>>>>>>>>>>>>>

They threw that away when the RINOs, the DNC and a bunch of crooked Dem lawyers got rid of House Whip Tom Delay. I would love to see DeLay come back.

The RINOs can't stand a Pubbie strong man. No one dares step forward to really do what DeLay did, for fear that the RINO/Dem coalition will coome after them.

It will be interesting to see what happens by November.

And then create a whole new set of problems.
The problem we have in Iraq is our PC way of conducting the war. If we keep this crap up, we're destined to fail.
The first war ran by the JAG.

I really wish Bush would articulate his policies more forcefully. Tell Americans the real reason why gas prices are high. Why raising the minimum-wage only hurts the very people it's supposed to help. Why entitlement programs need to be phased out.

Nah....

Just let him run the country.

The things you mention are LIMBAUGH's baileywick!

Since when did the constitution give the President a vote?

Playing stupid is unbecoming. Vote is a verb, and it means 'to show preference'.

He certainly hasn't exercised his VETO authority, but then his failed "New Tone" attitude is probably the reason he hasn't vetoed anything

The "New Tone" can't explain it. It's not as if he was trying to get his proposals through a Democratic Congress and had to trade tax cuts for domestic largesse like Reagan. The GOP spending orgy means our tax cuts are temporary. We could have had tax cuts and a balanced budget, but the GOP blew it.
