Dean Says Democrats Will End Iraq Problem
ABC News ^ | July 29 2006

Posted on 07/29/2006 2:05:06 PM PDT by jmc1969

As he campaigned for Republicans running for Congress in West Virginia, President George W. Bush confidently predicted that his party will retain control of Congress — but with his approval ratings mired in the 30s, gas prices topping $3, war spreading in the Middle East and Iraq in turmoil, some in the GOP are nervous.

Democratic leaders, say that they would bring an end to the U.S. presence in the war-torn nation.

"The first thing I think we would do is have a real strategy for how to get out of Iraq," said Howard Dean, the chairman of the Democratic National Committee and former presidential candidate, on ABC News' "Good Morning America Weekend Edition." "We don't need a president who says they're going to leave this to the next president. That's not leadership. It's the kind of thing that got us in there in the first place with no plan."

Although Dean said Democrats would do a better job with Iraq, the public now favors Republicans over Democrats in handling terrorism by seven percentage points, according to the ABC poll.

Pulling out of Iraq will not solve the Iraq problem.

Aw, Howie, pretty please hand the magic wand to GWB now so we don't lose any more of our boys and girls waiting for '08. Oh, you don't have a magic wand? Then how about a few words on how this miracle would be accomplished.

On ships?

Actually, it would be very good for the economy if the Dems won: we wouldn't be able to make the white flags fast enough.

Today, for example, we are going to contact two million voters in a single day in every state of the country, they'll get a unified message on their door."

Dean said Democrats are going to ask each person they contact to contact 100 people — one a day until the elections.

Now there is a realistic plan! Can't wait for them to knock on my door!

No.

Sorry, didn't realize you were so dense. It ended America's bleeding in Vietnam, the same way leaving our bases in the Middle East will end that bleeding.

The reason most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi was because they wanted us to get our military out of their country. Instead we've gone deeper into the whole region and have thousands more dead to show for it.

I don't think pointing to the flood of debt (public and private) under his administration is going to win many friends.

Show me the last time ANY stinkin' democrap voted against ANY spending bill. (Defense spending doesn't count).

Democraps haven't done a single thing to stop federal spending, not that our spineless RINO republicans are much better with their version of "I'm a Democrat Lite" politics.

When the demonrats say "...we need a $60 Billion speding program to fix this problem..." It doesn't do any good for the Republicans to counter with "WE can do that program for $40 Billion..." when the real solution is NO PROGRAM at all!

Dean is just a big blow hard like the rest of his "Progressive Marxist Left."
They are so obsessed with the regaining of power that they do and say anything to pull the wool over America's eyes. In doing so on the chance they will win we will lose our country.
Of that I am very sure.

The most important thing conservatives can do is realize that the Republicans are part of the problem.

They've created the "problem" by encouraging terrorists (and the rhetoric put out by the terrorists proves this), and it sounds like they just want to make a bigger problem and help the terrorists even more. Anti-American party, to be sure, and it gets worse with each passing day.

Yep - the old Cut-n-Run tactic has been so helpful in the past....

It worked with Clinton and Osama - is only took a few years for Osama to repay Clinton's generosity of not accepting custody of him when offered by having airliners flown into the Trade Center and Pendagon, as well as another that went down in Pennsylvania.

And in France - where they refused to even help out in the WOT - yet they had some of the worst rioting the world has ever seen - all by- you guessed it, Muslims....

And Israel - who have been capitulating to the terrorists for the last several years - withdrawing from what I believe is Israel's rightful land - and pulling troops back from many disputed areas. How do the terrorists repay them? By kidnapping their soldiers and launching hundreds of rockets into CIVILIAN areas....

Yea - the old Cut-N-Run tactic is SO VERY effective (at giving the terrorists yet another victory and incentive to get even more agressive).

The only positive I see coming from the liberals taking over the US government (some might say they are already in control.... but I digress....) is that such a government is likely to usher in the return of Christ....

Like Clinton leaving us with Osama bin Laden, a nuclear powered North Korea, etc?

So basically the lunatic Dean is saying if they win congress they will make it impossible for our soldiers to fight and they will implement a different strategy, but we don't know what that is yet.

uh...right!

Since when did the constitution give the President a vote?

He certainly hasn't exercised his VETO authority, but then his failed "New Tone" attitude is probably the reason he hasn't vetoed anything (except stem cell research).

Bush, and the rest of the spineless RINO's need to recognize the new tone will never work--the democrats are pure evil--and catering to them won't solve anything. Republicans spent 50 years as the Democrat's Step-and-Fetch-Its, and have not learned how to govern as the majority. They're still acting like losers, and if they keep it up they will be losers.

I honestly believe if the Democrats would have shut up and let the military accomplish the job they had set out to do in Iraq this war would have been over with two years ago.

The Democrats are guilty of encouraging the enemy and if they take over Congress we are in serious trouble.

The Conservatives need to start thinking Unity. If not, we will cut and run in Iraq; plus, the Democrats will try to Impeach Bush. The whole key to this is, the Democrats could possibly succeed with the help of the lamestream media.
