- Photo I added is not from article -
According to Major General Lewis MacKenzie, Canadian Army, retired, one of the Canadian soldiers killed by Israeli bombs in Lebanon had written emails home complaining that Hizbullah terrorists were using his UN post as a shield, expecting that Israel wouldn't target them if they were close to the UN post.

UN observation post eventually attacked by Israel:
To: OnRightOnLeftCoast
The UN observation post was hit as soon as Israel figured out that the people in the post were spotting for Hezbollah miltia. When you find the spotters you make meat irregardless of the clothes they are wearing.

Anyone notice how after about 15 minutes of grandstanding by Coffi Anus, you haven't heard anything more about this from the UN?
Something tells me the UN is laying low because they don't want a full investigation of what was going on around there to get out.

If there was something to it, as in deliberate, 'ole Kofi would've not accepted any apology. He'd be all over it as would his ally, the New York Times....

Yeah.
Saw that yesterday.
Isn't it amazing how a 'neutral observer' just can't seem to keep it's nose out of where is doesn't belong?
The U.N. is usless. Except to terrorists, that is.

We don't know if that outpost was attacked by Israel. One thing for sure however, is that it wasn't the one where the four observers were in... Just trying to clarify, that's all...

You may recall in the Six Day War back in June of 1967 Israeli fighter aircraft and torpedo boats attacked the U.S. Navy intelligence vessel Liberty. It was rumored after that the Israeli's were well aware the ship was American, but felt they were assisting Egypt by communicating information that was harmful to Israel. In any case they apologized saying it was a tragic error made in the fog of war ... the Israeli attack killed 34 U.S. servicemen and wounded at least 173. The attack on the NATO observation base in southern Lebanon by Israel has a lot of distressing similarities.

The attack on the NATO observation base in southern Lebanon by Israel has a lot of distressing similarities. Ummm... Was a UN observation post, not a NATO post. And in this case - there is little doubt that the UN post was being used as a targeting station for Hezzie rockets. Big difference in the two events.

Humm. They appear to have foolishly allowed someone to establish a forward position outside their camp, but inside their perimeter. The Yellow flag is appropriate for cowards who use others as shields.
