At least two or three people shoot.
SEATTLE – At least two people have been shot at the Jewish Federation at 2031 Third Ave. in downtown Seattle. One or two people have been taken into custody but it's not known if they are suspects.
One person was reportedly shot in the abdomen and another in the arm. They are being taken to Harborview Medical Center.
Part of Third Avenue and Second Avenue have been closed to traffic. Police are urging people to stay away from the area. It's not known if more suspects are at large but policemen were seen handcuffing one person and others were searching the area.
At least three people were seen emerging from the building, escorted by police. It's not know if they were hostages.
Medics, escorted by police, have been taking other people from the building.

He mentioned the Jewish orgs first, then said mosques would be protected from retaliatory acts.
We have plenty of the first and third that you mention. Much more than our fair share.
This is why my husband has suggested we get some guns.

If they say it's because he's Muslim, they might have to say that there has been an act of TERRORISM in this country, wouldn't they?
He danced for several minutes with all the liberal talking points and touchy/feely type reassuring politically correct comments. Completely avoided any reference to muslim, but finally, then he said "WE ARE MAKING EFFORTS TO PROTECT MOSQUES". That was the first reference to islam, not about the perp's suspected background, but about where they are going to commit police resources at this time, in other words, to protect MUSLIMS. I shit you not.

But give him a little credit. The mention of protecting mosques from retaliation came only after he had talked about protecting Jewish people and property.

AIT...I was a TV reporter for more than 6 years. Don't take that too badly. If you've ever seen "ER," you know that there are all kinds of ways to deal with crises.
Reporters are a small group...they all know each other. They are all jockeying to be FIRST for a fact. In many ways, they are cut-throat.
Hence...the laughing, joking when it seems inappropriate. The "I'm your friend," when it isn't really meant.
You also have to remember that this kind of story is an adrenaline rush for these folks. They won't be sleeping tonight.
If you're listening to the after-talk...they are extremely frustrated with this presser. They got nothing new.
