This could be bad.

Or VERY, VERY good. For any hope of lasting world peace Mecca and Medina will have to be leveled.

Pull our troops out now.

Another poster accurately pointed out that this is being virtually ignored by the media. Very strange.

How accurate is this new source? What reputable source would misspell Israel?

Why do you figure Damascus will be destroyed? it is one of the oldest continuing cities in the world.

Mecca and Media as molten glass would destroy Islam, the religion of peace. It is required that everyone make a pilgrimage to Mecca once during his lifetime so as to fulfill the pillars of Islam and submit to Allah.

If Mecca is not there, the religion falls apart.

Terribly inaccurate, since it is the Saudi government's state owned propaganda machine. Their English translation is at least better than Zero Wing, I would fault them on their intent and thoughts before correcting their spelling.

Sounds like Klingons...

They don't want war with Israel. The dummies don't understand that Israel hasn't pulled out their big guns and the Saudis really don't want them to either, so they just need to sit back and shut up before they're buried in a sea of glass.

They should also remember their only number on speed dial to save their sorry butts if things go down the tubes isn't European or Asian. They almost own more mansions in the Northeastern US, Texas, Florida and Colorado than they do back in the magic kingdom.

We used to blow them off above ground in New Mexico all the time. El Paso, Dallas and Houston all survived.

While we did a few in New Mexico, we set off a lot more in Nevada. However when we got the really big fusion weapons, we set them off in the South Pacific.

Still, your basic point is correct. Most fallout is in large enough chunks that it falls out close to the explosion, 10s to 100s of miles. What's left can cause problems, but decays fairly rapidly, with a low level of longer lived, and thus less intensely radioactive, fission products remain for some time and do indeed spread long distances.

The comment about the Gulf stream in the earlier post makes no sense at all. For one thing, the Gulf stream starts in the Gulf of Mexico and would tend to carry things away from the US as it makes it's way up the east coast and then accross the North Atlantic to England and other European countries.

Saudi's talking about Syria jumping in, and Iran following them, not about a Saudi involvement militarily.

Saudi's park their tanks when the oil light comes on, indicating the engine is a quart low.

Fact.

I suspect the Klingons were modeled after the Arabs and the Kzin, who in turn were modeled on the Arabs. So, it's not surprising to me that the Arabs would sound like Klingons (or Kzin for that matter).

Maybe the Arabs are feeling their 'nads as the Israeli operation seems to be taking quite awhile.

What they forget is that no fighting in the past three years has been troops and armor out in the open.

A very bad oversight on their part.

I think this statement has to be considered in context.

The House of Saud is interested, above all, in keeping power. By all accounts they're a cynical lot, who are known to say whatever seems good at the time.

Their main threat comes from the salamikazes who hate them for playing nice with the West. And so, as a means of seeming to do something, they issue this threat.

I seriously doubt they mean it, however.

How quickly can refineries be built? Would it take years? If so, we should have started back in '01. Looks like we're all going to be riding bicycles to work before long.

Something must have spooked them. I wonder what???

Most likely the latest osama video. The Royals run scared of a certain segment of their own population as it is.
