NewsChannel 11 is learning about memorial services for fallen Lubbock soldier Andrew Velez. Andrew's body arrived in Dover, Delaware Thursday afternoon. The 22-year-old was killed in Afghanistan on Tuesday. Andrew's father, Roy Velez tells us they don't have a specific day set for the service, but he expects it will be sometime next week. Part of the service will come from a sermon Andrew preached when he was 12-years-old. In that service, Andrew quoted Proverbs 19:21.

"Many are the plans in the heart of a man, but the counsel of God is what will stand."

Roy also tells us Andrew will be buried next to his brother Freddy. Freddy was killed in Iraq in November of 2004.

Roy tells us they've received well wishes from all over the world. Thursday, University Medical Center is offering their condolences. Andrew's mother, Carmen, is a UMC employee. A prayer service will be held at the UMC Chapel Friday at 9:00 a.m. UMC employees can also donate to a memorial fund.
