President Bush shakes hands with Sen. Arlen Specter R-a., second from left, after signing the Voting Rights Act of 2006 during a ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House in Washington, Thursday, July 27, 2006.
President Bush , left, talks with members of Congress after signing, Thursday, July 27, 2006, the Voting Rights Act on the South Lawn at the White House in Washington. Left to right behind Bush are Rep. James Sensenbrenner, R-Wis., House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton , D-N.Y., Sen. Harry Reid D-Nev
Oh the horror. Pelosi and Clinton in the same pic.! Look at that smug, condescending look on Hillary's face.
It would be a tough job to have to mingle with people who hate you this much.
Good evening everyone, and snugs thanks for tonight's excellent Dose.
All those photos of the bill signings... honestly how President Bush can face people who have been so utterly vile towards him with the things they've said, and he faces them with such humor and openness. He must have God's grace to do that, I'm not sure I could. It just brings tears to my eyes.
God bless this wonderful man.
I don't know about the rest of you, but for the past few years I've been receiving emails from just about every black person I know w/a computer urging blacks to 'fight the Republicans who will let voting rights lapse.'
Does anyone in their right mind think that this country would go back to denying blacks the vote or having voting tests, etc? We've got a black Secretary of State, for crying out loud. We're bringing democracy to Afganistan and Iraq and we're gonna stop blacks from voting?
That kind of email makes me nuts. These are educated black people w/responsible jobs, but some of the race-related emails that get sent around don't even make any sense if you just thought them through. No wonder so many blacks are still on the plantation.
