I don't know about the rest of you, but for the past few years I've been receiving emails from just about every black person I know w/a computer urging blacks to 'fight the Republicans who will let voting rights lapse.'
Does anyone in their right mind think that this country would go back to denying blacks the vote or having voting tests, etc? We've got a black Secretary of State, for crying out loud. We're bringing democracy to Afganistan and Iraq and we're gonna stop blacks from voting?
That kind of email makes me nuts. These are educated black people w/responsible jobs, but some of the race-related emails that get sent around don't even make any sense if you just thought them through. No wonder so many blacks are still on the plantation.

I was shocked at the very act of "renewing the contract."
Why has not this been done ONCE AND FOR ALL?
