Hezbollah likened to movie Alien

ISRAEL'S Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu today compared the Israeli-Hezbollah conflict in Lebanon to the Hollywood movie Alien.

The 1979 science-fiction thriller starring Sigourney Weaver depicted "alien ferocious bodies that plant themselves in a host and lurch out, burst through the chest, and attack the person next to the host and in doing so, kills the host", Mr Netanyahu told Canadian broadcaster CTV from Tel Aviv.

"Hezbollah is the alien body and Lebanon is the host," he said.

"And the mother alien, if you will, producing these poisoned eggs, is Iran, with its way station to Syria."

Israel would be the bystander struck by the alien monster, he implied.

"If we're going to have a future of peace and good neighbours, a future of tranquility, then this alien ... it's got to go," he said.

"yep.. Aliens. and the Israelis are the Marines landing and kicking ass."

Not sure about the validity of your allusion there since the Marines were completely overwhelmed and anhialated by the xenomorphs.

"Hope it doesn't come down to nukein' 'em from orbit."

That was Aliens. Alien is the first on and in that one they just wanted to get it and flush it out into space.

Actually Bibi's analogy was a good one.

"You do undertand that Starship Troopers was actually satire don't you?"

The movie, maybe. I don't think the book was intended as satire.

It's usually classified among his juveniles. I think that means the words are shorter.

"Can't say I saw the movie"

All the Alien movies are good. #1 "Alien" #2 "Aliens" are the best. #3 "Alien3" was good but along a different line. #4 "Alien Resurrection" was a mishmash and #5 "AVP" was okay in it's own way.

Get Alien and Aliens and you will probably watch them over and over. Never gets tiring. Oh and only get the directors cut versions of 1,2,3. --The directors cut of #2 "Aliens" is a completely different movie than the first release. Lot's of things are made more understandable by the directors cut.

"But is it more like the movie Star Ship Troopers?"

Star Ship Troopers was no where near the quality movie as Alien. SST was a kids cartoon or SiFi Channel made for TV movie.

Alien is in a class way beyond that. Alien is the set up of the series and was as good as Aliens but in it's own style.

"I've yet to see the last two."

Actually 3 if you include AVP. Total of 5 with that one.
