Fox News ^ | 7/27/06

Ann Coulter just on Cavuto being interviewed.

She wanted to "remind the viewers" that the normal election cycle is for the party in the White House to lose seats. She expects this election to be one where Republicans lose seats. She added "a lot of seats" before Neil moved on to another question.

I like science, as one can see from my nic.

Huh!? What does RFC stand for? Radio-frequency Current?

Seem far-fetched? Give me odds and I'll put money down!

The only thing in your list that might happen is impeachment, but the odds are long even there.

As to the rest, if the GOP holds the Senate, none of it will happen, and it won't happen even if they don't.

Bush will veto reparations, tax increases, and a return of the fairness doctrine. You can count on that.

She said the same thing this morning on the KSFO Morning Show with Lee Rodgers and Melanie Morgan. She followed up the comment by saying that she's lousy with predictions and that the question is better answered by someone like Michael Barone, who studies all the districts, the past histories of the candidates, etc.

How convient, but she still threw it out there, to create "buzz" about herself on FR and other conservative circles.

I am not pleased with several of the Republican's policies, BUT there is NO way I will sit this out, or not vote Rep. It feels bad now, but a lot can happen between now and Nov. Did anyone a few months ago think Iraq would be off the front pages? I didn't.

"Been reading freerepublic for years - just didn't have the time to make an account till now. It takes time and effort to start a small business and having a FR posting account would have taken up too much of my time as it can be rather addicting."

You seem to have found plenty of time to post in the last ten days. LOL

What did this thread have to do with Coulter's knowledge of science?

That's a rhetorical question. I realize you just showed up to bash her. And it didn't matter what the subject of the thread was.

That's "helping the cause" all right.

But what's your cause?

she isn't predicting based on anything she knows, she is just regurgitating the internal polling - which is a snapshot in time.

Well, my son is a military man and one of the most conservative people I know. The Republicans in DC have him so disgusted he may elect not to vote. This is the way this bunch of clowns stands to lose and lose huge.

Say what you want about Medicare, but without it, my mother in law would be suffering much more in her illness.

100% positive proof doesn't exist in science, and a great many people, most more well spoken then I, have shown where she is incorrect.

Agreed, gas prices, Iraq and the overall health of the economy will be the key issues in most congressional races -- both House and Senate.

Except for activists on both sides of the spectrum, people have very short memories. They will only care about the state of Iraq and gasoline around mid-October.

Recall that in the 1998 midterm elections the American people didn't even remember in November that the President of the United States committed televised perjury and obstruction of justice just 8 weeks prior ('depends on what the definition of "is" is' and such nonsense).

People will begin paying attention in October. For now, it's all premature.

Her statement was generic.

It was based on "history".

Based on the sixth year, historically any party will lose seats.

Your headline is misleading because it was not a definitive assertion based on current politics by Coulter. Rather it was a generic assertion by Coulter based on history.

Request For Comment.

n internetworking and computer network engineering, Request for Comments (RFC) documents are a series of memoranda encompassing new research, innovations, and methodologies applicable to Internet technologies.

Through the Internet Society, engineers and computer scientists may publish discourse in the form of an RFC memorandum, either for peer review or simply to convey new concepts, information, or (occasionally) engineering humor. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) adopts some of the applied information theory published in RFCs as Internet standards.

What "cause" is hurt by disagreeing with Ann Coulter? She's a pundit, not a prophet.

This time, yes.

Normally, I would say not that much. But we really need the President to be able to focus on foreign affairs and not have to spend his time fending off the likes of Pelosi and Reid.

No matter what any of us think about the President's domestic policies, impeachment rumblings would be an absolute blow to our ability to fight the WOT. If you don't think they would do it, you aren't paying enough attention. Winning would embolden them like nobody's business and since their agenda is simply that "we have to stop him, what more do you need" we have to keep that in mind.

which is a snapshot in time

According to Rush the results of this internal polling Novak's source speaks of spans over a period of months now - more months than we actually have until we vote.
