I'm getting kinda tired of the Middle East childishness. Israel needs a militia, or foreign legion, or something. with about a million rockets. problem solved

I"d suggest a private placement of a couple of privately supplied cruise missles at a couple of SA cities that start with the letter "M".

I am an ardent supporter of Israel and our preemptive attacks on terror regimes. However, I question how Israel having a militia with rockets (greasepaint) would help solve the problem. Or for that matter bombing Mecca and Medina?
It is clear that the world holds Israel and the USA to higher standards that is does Al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah. This current war on Islamic extremist facism requires surgical strikes, not bombing targets with innocent people, or for that matter to two holy cities of Mecca and Medina.
Part of this war is perception in the world, and the USA and Israel are constantly fighting the NYTimes, Washington Post, BBC, etc over their moral equivalency, MSM it is all Bush's fault. Carpet bombing civilian cites, especially cities in countries not directly involved in attacks on Israel or our forces in Iraq is nonsense.

I'm sorta against 'higher standards'.

the Israeli militia should have low standards.

It is easier to get forgiveness,
than permission.

It has nothing to do with higher standards and everything to do with the reality of the situation.

If Israel practiced unrestrained warfare against the Palestinians or in Lebanon.

It will cause major disturbances throughout the Middle East.

It could cause to topple the governments of Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait to name a few.

These are all countries America is relying on to try and bring some form of stability to the Middle East, America knows this and so does Israel.

You don't put out one fire by setting the whole region ablaze.

Unfortunately we're held to standards that are increasingly impossible to uphold. Take our treatment of terrorist prisoners as an example. Under Geneva convention rules there is no reason the terrorists should even be breathing today. If those prisoners are released they come right back at us creating a long lasting problem as long as they live. Personally I think all but the most high value terrorists should be killed on the battlefield.

In other cases we willingly go far above and beyond Geneva convention rules. The Geneva convention rules allow the killing of civilians if they're acting as human shields even unwillingly. In that case I'm glad we do try to avoid civilians casualties.

Israel also needs a force of terminally ill people,
to be suicide bombers.

Israel and the US both need the S (Slammnation) bomb, the major ingredients of which should be compressed air and freeze-dried pork, ground at least as fine as the flash powder used in flintlock rifles. Such a bomb should be capable of ensuring that anybody who ever took a step or a breath of air within five miles of where it was blown off would be ingesting some quantity of pork albeit tiny, and that no slammite in such an area would have any shot at ever seeing slammite paradise or his/her 72 virgins. Naturally, once you have such a weapon, you advertise the fact...

=================================================================================================

The problem with Americans is that it's been about 150 years since we've known war on American soil, 9/11 not withstanding. War is just "theory" to many Americans, including you. How many Katyusha's are you willing to accept striking Georgia's soil, and for how long?

Would you feel any different if Atlanta was a smoking, radioactive-for-10,000-years, hole in the ground?

"It is clear that the world holds Israel and the USA to higher standards that is does Al Qaeda, Hamas, and Hezbollah."

The "world" could care less how many Israeli or American cities burn. In fact, the "world" would probably think the citizens of both countries "had it coming to them". Before you dictate "higher standards" for the USA, remember who set the standards. NO COUNTRY in the world has done more to avoid civilian casualties than the USA. The U.N., and every "humanitarian" organization in the world originated from U.S., post-WWII action. The "world" can teach the USA nothing; it's not earned that right.

"This current war on Islamic extremist facism requires surgical strikes, not bombing targets with innocent people, or for that matter to two holy cities of Mecca and Medina."

That argument is akin to the "proportionate response" liberal line. How many wars have been won by "surgical strikes"? How many wars have been won by doing less than winning the war by all possible means?

The Muslims (note: not "radical Muslims"; that's a linguistic construct with no basis in reality) have (a) created the myth of "stateless terrorism" to mask (b) all out war against non-Muslim, predominantly Western, and in particular American and/or Israeli interests. They've wrapped their children in bombs to prove that they have no point of vulnerability, that there is nothing they care enough about that we could attack that would deter them. Their suicide bombers are a message to "surrender now, because you have no hope".

In fact, that myth is a lie. Muslims DO care about certain things. Turning Mecca and Medina into glass via Nuc would crush the moral of the Muslims. If Allah cannot protect Mecca and Medina, what will he do for the Muslims? Incinerating Teheran and Iran's nuclear sites would probably end Iranian imperialistic ambitions.

Save perhaps the Brits, NO OTHER COUNTRY will allow their sons to die for Israeli's or Americans. Neither Israel nor America started this war, but we had sure better win it. There is no alternative. Georgia is not safe from an Islamic nuclear, biological, or chemical attack. Georgia, along with the rest of America is #1 or #2 (if Israel is #1) on the Muslim's target list.

I truly feel for the Lebanese civilians who are impacted by the current new war. I'd feel sad for any Muslim city that had to die to guarantee America peace. But I could live with that. If my wife and kids are safe, and theirs are suffering or dead, I'd sleep like a baby, because the safety of MY FAMILY is my PRIMARY responsibility. It's also America's. No one else in the world gives a damn.

Japan did not win WWII with suicide pilots and Israel will not will with suicide bombers. I suspect that if Mossad knew were the key leaders of Hamas and Hezbollah are that they could have them killed. Intelligence is the key.

Place the new Israeli missile force on Frigates or sub's off the coast(s) of Europe and Iran. Everytime a katyusha strikes Israeli, Israeli could launch a "proportionate response", i.e. an equivalent volley into Europe's or Iran's cities.

How many katyusha's is Finland willing to accept? The Swiss? France? Germany? Austria?

If no Muslim katyusha's hit Israel, then Europe and Iran will remain katyusha free.

Proportionate. Fair. Balanced.

They did - they had Christian and Druze militia - If I remember things right - they abandoned them when they withdrew from S Lebanon - and many fled.

re :War is just "theory" to many Americans, including you.

You could say that about most Americans on this site who ask why not an all out war.

As I have stated before there are major reasons such as the fact that Israel does not want to destabilize those Arab countries that while not friendly towards Israel are not hostile either.

LOL you talk about striking targets in Saudi Arabia, that is one of the countries America is relying on to help bring stability to the region.

It seems that your answer to a small fire is to set the whole region alight.

Israel may not see it that way because while she is coping with terrorist attacks, she will not be able to cope with a total war.

Yes she has operation Samson but it is a last results.

The fallout do you think it will miss Israel that she will not have her food and water contaminated.

LOL now you have gone crazy so you want Israel to declare war against Europe as well.

Yep that will really work

you are being too pessimistic.

in WW2, the Japanese Kamakazie were reasonable successful
at twenty percent reaching their target.

think --> total mix
rockets,
suicide bombers
general gangsterism and unlawlessness

I am confused. Do you not understand that the ONLY message radical Islam understands is that of brute force, anything less is viewed as weakness? Have you ever spoken to one of these freaks?

You must understand Israel's position, they are fricken surrounded by the enemy. Their cult preaches the total destruction of Israel. I don't feel sorry for the people of Lebannon, they willingly and knowingly harbor terrorists in their communities thereby allowing them to fire missiles into Israel FIRST. Israel is well within their right to protect themselves.

No rational person wants war but consider the reason behind the tone of numerous comments on this website. The cry or demand for war is a sign of the frustration, anger and hatred in the hearts of the American people. We no longer care so much about the "poor suffering people in the middle east", we are tired of being the ones held to the higher standard.

I am disgusted that a single US Marine had to set foot on that soil to help a bunch of people I am will to guess are probably at the minimum terrorist facillitators. Yet again the military has to belittle themselves in order to appease people who have no idea of what they ask.

Your comment about the food and water supply is true of course. If Israel uses nukes they will contaminate themselves however I believe the Israeli government as well as their citizens are close to the point where they will seriously consider that option as they have no other choice. I admire the courage of the Israelis, I hate to admit it but they are much stronger than our population.

A sure sign of the lack of support for Israel and the lack of support for them was given yesterday by that idiot Kofi Anan.

One more quick question and I will stop, who the hell is he and how do we get rid of him? I am starting to think A.Q. has a guy on the inside.
