"It's Disproportionate. . ."

The only reason the attack is "disproportionate" is because the Israeli's have better bomb shelters and better aim.

Bush's endorsement of the violence that Israel is inflicting on Lebanon -- a sustained bombing campaign that has killed hundreds of civilians and can only be seen as collective punishment -- is truly astonishing. Only to liberals who deliberately cloud their view of the facts. Hiz started this. Hiz is hiding among civilians. Even then, Israel is mimimizing damage to non-combatants - many of those this pinhead refers to as civilians are actually terrorists in civilian garb.

How can Hezbollah's stature in the Arab world grow if there is no more Hezbollah left?

Maybe I just wasn't paying attention and/or have read the wrong history books.
But could anyone point me to any previous incident in history when a Nation attacked has been decried for using "disproportionate force" or "collective punishment" on the attackers?

RE: "Disproportionate"
Liberals are conditioned to expect everything to be 'equal' and 'fair' so the concept of a winner and a loser have been removed from their lexicon and fantasy world.
Sorry Leftards, real life doesn't function the same as your communist theology.

But even if you set aside the president's embarrassing open-mike performance at the Group of Eight summit, which is hard to do... Uhm. I didn't feel particularly embarrassed by his remarks. I found them refreshing. It displayed a thinking that is disturbingly lacking in the rest of the "civilized" world.

".....a sustained bombing campaign that has killed hundreds of civilians" Hezbollah are considered "civilians" by the MSM. .....although they'll go way out of their way not to mention this fact.

It's Disproportionate. . . For it to be proportional, Israel would need to indiscriminately lob rockets into Lebanon with no regard for differentiating between civilian and military targets.
If I were over there and had to choose between being in Beirut or Haifa, I think I'd feel safer in Beirut.

Destroying the Beirut airport, blasting communications towers into oblivion and cleansing southern Lebanon of its civilian population are not measures the world will see as an attack on Hezbollah terrorists. The Israeli campaign is so intense and widespread that it is creating more terrorists than it kills
THis idiot does not really understand how to conduct a war. Which makes his opinions all but useless.
Syria and Iran are USING Lebanon's airport to funnel in arms and equipment to help Hezbollah. You have the cut off the supply lines before it replenishes the arms of your enemies.
The other "usual" argument they have is this --- fighting and killing terrorists "creates" more terrorists.
He of course totally ignores the fact that NOT KILLING THEM only encourages more to rise and join as the propaganda will always be --- they are winning.
He also conveniently ignores the fact that Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan, traditionally known to be opposed to Israel REFUSES to side with Hezbollah.
To make a long story short -- Eugene Robinson is a moron. Wonder how he made it to become Editor at the WAPO...

Considering Hezbollah's stated goal is to slaughter every Jew and wipe Israel off the map, what exactly would be the "proportionate response?" As long as any members of Hezbollah (or their family members) are still alive, looks to me as if Israel hasn't come anywhere near it yet.

There are still rockets falling on Israel today. I'd say this supports that Israel is not doing enough. Disproportionate? Right and Tel Aviv is "occupied".
