Children as young as three should be taught about same-sex relationships in a bid to stamp out homophobia in schools, it was claimed yesterday.
The National Union of Teachers, the country's largest teaching union, sparked outrage by demanding that nursery staff help to educate children about gay families.
It claims it is too late to wait until youngsters arrive at primary school to learn about the subject because some three-year-olds are already using homophobic language.
But critics branded the NUT as "achingly politically correct" and said the proposals were akin to "brain-washing" vulnerable youngsters.
The proposal was made yesterday when the NUT published its response to the Department for Education and Skills' Early Years Foundation Stage consultation document.
This government report sets out the "early learning goals" which youngsters should be achieving in the first few years of their lives.
But the NUT claims that it needs to go further and early years teachers should be given "the skills and tools to challenge racism, sexism and homophobia" and abusive language.
The NUT document says: "In the case of homophobia, the use of the word 'gay' is prevalent in primary schools and young boys who are perceived to not conform to masculine stereotypes are at risk of bullying, isolation and social exclusion.
"It is too late to wait until primary school to challenge prejudice and intolerant abusive language.
"The EYFS curriculum needs to alert early years teachers to their responsibilities to challenge gender stereotypes and to challenge language that is negative or prejudiced."
It adds: "It is particularly important to begin to make three to five-year-olds aware of the range of families that exist in the UK today; families with one mum, one mum and dad, two mums, two dads, grandparents, adoptive parents, guardians etc.
"There will be parents who are gay or lesbian who will want to be reassured that their children will be safe in the setting.
"Many gay parents do not 'come out' to their nursery schools because they fear their children will be bullied as a result of the sexual orientation of their parents.
"Now that civil partnerships are legal, nursery settings need to use the curriculum to educate children about all types of families and to promote respect and understanding."
But Nick Seaton, of the Campaign for Real Education, branded the demands as "ridiculous".
He said: "I very much doubt that three-year-olds will be able to grasp the implications of these things anyway.
"Apart from that, even if they do, it seems completely wrong for the state education system to try and brainwash youngsters in this way.
"It is achingly politically correct and it's a sad reflection on the direction state education is taking, with the emphasis on teaching politically correct values, rather than worthwhile subjects."
Hugh McKinney, of the National Family Campaign, added: "To attach any kind of value judgement to the views and statements of three-year-olds is simply nonsense.
"Nobody condones homophobic language but to try and teach impressionable, immature youngsters about issues such as this is simply wrong for their stage of development.
"The state system should not be the basis for such teaching until children are older and more able to form their own judgements."
A spokeswoman for the NUT last night defended educating very young children about gay relationships.
She said: "It's never too early to encourage respect. It's about valuing every child and the relationship they live in and ensuring all children show respect to that relationship as well."
There is no such thing as "gay parents". They are simply predators who have managed to 'acquire' a child to play house with because of some touchy- feely liberal gay social worker decided that the child has no right to be raised in a normal, natural enviroment. What's even more sad about these "gay parents" is the increasing amount of children being used and sexualy abused by them to star in the pedophilia porn ring. This sickness and madness has to stop. Sodomites should NEVER EVER be alowed anywhere near children, never mind have custody of them behind closed doors where who knows what is being done to their bodies, and their minds.

"Homophobia" my left nu*, it's more like homophelia; the left-wing unstoppable bleeding of homo "values." You know homo "values" they are when you describe your position in humanity by your personal behavior in private in bed.
I've never really talked about homosexuality at home, and certainly never been "negative" about it around my children, but my daughter finds the entire thought disgusting.
Apparently it's a natural thought, which must be trained out of the species at a young age.
Much like the Muslims must start really young training their children to take pleasure in killing other people or blowing themselves up.
Humanity will accept perversion if we are just trained long and hard enough.

School? TV? I would think that there's a pretty big difference between a 3 yr old, and a 5yr old, both language-wise and experience-wise.
This is the result of the slippery slope of socialism/statism combined with ignorance and apathy. How on Earth can we ever reverse such a force?

I wrote just last week, in a post, that my alma mater is totally dominated, or so it would seem, by what women want. Men are nearly invisible with regard to postings I see in the campus center about various college activities.
Some of the posters scold the men about the evil of "date rape," or "rape," or "did you know that so-and-so was gay?" Good Lord.
Then there are the omnipresent "Vagina Monologues." This is performed every year - sometimes including female faculty members - and to what end? How does this help anyone?
Then there's the evil Title IX and college sports. Oh brother(and I mean that literally).
Then you see it and hear it in radio and TV commercials. Have you noticed that in two-voice spots the woman always explains the wonderful, new product or service to the man who is always without knowledge of any of this? If it's not the woman character speaking to the culturally deprived man, his children make sure that dad finds out about things that he really should know about.
I cannot predict what the outcome of all of this will be among American men, but I am quite sure it cannot be a happy end.
How does one turn all of this around?
According to these people, describing homosexuals as..."Homosexuals" is bigoted and intolerant. I refuse to use the word "Gay" to describe homosexuals.
Geez...and conservatives are the ones who are supposed to be closer to Big Brother and 1984, but we aren't the ones who try to change the meanings of words through the penalty of law.

Liberals operate on emotion. All emotions are subject to pendulum swings, as a result, all policies and laws that are enacted (where liberals needs and wants are met) are driven by emotion, and therefore are subject to swings of the pendulum.
If legislation was introduced as a function of logic and reason then we wouldn't be going back and forth with this stuff.
Logic is flat over time, relatively speaking. With some exceptions, things that are logical today are logical tomorrow. Some things do change with the times, for example, while it may have been logical to ship milk in glass bottles at the dawn of the 20th century, one could persuasively argue that by the end of the century, there was no logical reason to ship milk in glass containers.
The debilitation of men by society will reach a point where some person, group or committee or political party, ruled by emotion, will decide that something has to be done about the "Problem of Men". The way things go with the left, their solution will be to drug men up so excessively they can only have a machine hooked up to extract their semen so artificial insemination is possible.
There is the problem:
Conservatives in general understand people are essential to the health of a society, be they male, female, black, yellow or white. As long as they are productive and have the ability to contribute, they are valuable members of society.
If you could administer truth serum to them, you would find that Liberals think that some groups are more essential to the health of a society and some groups are detrimental to the health of a society, and it has nothing at all to do with the contributions someone might make, and everything to do with race, gender and sexual orientation.

1. This is why the public schools should be abandoned in droves in favor of private schools and homeschools. Government schools are no longer about education...they are about INDOCTRINATION. The only education that public schools give is to teach the kids how to be "good, little slaves" to the New World Order. Of course the globalists in the government would just then either force all private schools and homeschools to teach what the government wants then to teach or ban all private schools and homeschools outright. You know, I think public schools these days would rather teach students the Gay Manifesto instead of the Bill Of Rights. I mean they ban the Holy Bible, but I have heard of public schools FORCING their students to read the Qu'ran OUT FRICKING LOUD!
2. If straight people can be thrown in jail for using words like (please excuse my language) "fag" or "homo" or "fudge packer", then gay people should also be jailed for calling straight people "breeders". It's either "freedom of speech for ALL" or "freedom of speech for NONE".
I blame it on television and the content of TV programming, especially MTV, BBC Lite...I mean PBS (PBS is partially taxpayer funded, but when the donations from their telethons dry up, it will end up being fully taxpayer funded when the USA creates a compulsory TV tax just like the UK), you name it. In these days of globalists using TV to brainwash people, I think parents need to stop using TV as a babysitter. (I'm not blaming you for anything. It's just common fact that lots of parents park Junior right in front of the boob tube.)
Public schools don't educate...they indoctrinate the kids into being "good, little slaves".
