Wexler falls into a comedic interviewer's trap -- and he's not laughing By Brian E. Crowley

U.S. Rep. Robert Wexler has sat in front of some of the hottest television lights in the world of news talk, barking about political rivals, demanding action and mostly holding his own in on-air squabbles.
Then he sat down with comedian Stephen Colbert.

Wexler thought he knew what he was getting into but really he didn't.
He found himself talking about whether caribou meat should be used to fuel sport utility vehicles. And he found himself being cajoled into staring at the camera and saying, "I enjoy cocaine because it's a fun thing to do," in a segment that aired Thursday night.
Welcome to Comedy Central, congressman....

I cannot stand Wexler but I saw the interview and thought it to be hilarious. Those that take offense to what he said are those that are so uptight that one couldn't drive a ten penny nail up their butt with a sledgehammer. It was good comedy and a politician that for a moment could laugh at himself.
Couldn't have happened to a better guy-- except maybe Bubba himself, and Bubba wouldn't have been telling a lie when he finished Colbert's sentence.
I saw this on Special Report with(out) Brit Hume on Friday. It was hysterical. Couldn't happen to a nicer (ha!) guy. :-)
I'm trying to think of a few politicians that would be able to go on Colbert and play along (and have fun with it). McCain came to mind - not because I am a huge fan of his, but because he's feisty enough and can show a sense of humor sometimes.
What snobbish kids!
Wexler is so intense and has no sense of humor. Great choice. The condo Nazis love him, though.
I can see Bush's shoulders scrunching up and down. Reagan would have done well, though I doubt he would have said what Wexler said.
Even Gore has more of a sense of humor.
Now he's upset? Bet he thought he was being hip at the time.
If you follow the link, you can see the whole segment. He does look uncomfortable. He should have prepared himself for what Colbert is about.
I was flipping thru the channels and happened to catch that and couldn't believe what I was seeing, he screwed up big time.
(Go Israel, Go! Slap 'Em, Down Hezbullies.)
Mrs. Wexluh's little boy Bobby...what a creep. I love it when lefties get ambushed by their own media poodles.
Wexler is an egotist and a phony and if he's in trouble over it he deserves it. Couldn't happen to a bigger jerk.
He is not that sharp. I thought he had absolutely no clue and just caught like a deer in the headlights.
I've watched Colbert several times. Pretty funny. Here's the interview. I hope... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xOocmYuFH0&search=colbert%20report%20Wexler
oops. Didn't read the latter posts. Sorry. Also it is interesting to watch Olbermann being interviewed. He's playing along but still he's an idiot. And he sees the world simply, without all those complicated facts :)
