Philadelphia may evict Boy Scouts council The Associated Press Published: Saturday, July 22, 2006 Updated: Saturday, July 22, 2006
PHILADELPHIA (AP) - The city said it will evict a Boy Scout council from its publicly owned headquarters or make the group pay a fair rent price unless it changes its policy on gays.
The Boy Scouts' Cradle of Liberty Council, the country's third-largest, has been battling with the city for more than three years over the policy, which like the national Scouts organization forbids gays from being leaders.
City Solicitor Romulo L. Diaz Jr. wrote a letter to William T. Dwyer III, president of the Cradle of Liberty Council, stating that the council's "discriminatory policies" violate city policy and law, and that city officials have not been assured the group will not discriminate.
Unless the city gets a "fair-market rent agreement," the council will be evicted, the letter says.
The group has made its headquarters on a half-acre owned by the city in the upscale Philadelphia Art Museum area since 1928, when the city council voted to allow the Scouts to use the property rent-free "in perpetuity." The Scouts pay for building upkeep.

Can someone clarify this for me please...
Do the Girl Scouts (or whatever they are called) allow male Leaders?... and if not, what is the reason?
If the answer is that they don't allow male leaders, and for the reasons I am thinking, does Philadelphia have the same attitude towards them?
We see that question every so often, and it's a good question indeed. I'm not sure the question has ever been answered without imposing a double standard.
I live in New England - but was, indeed, in California went the incident took place...in the 70's (The perp was also in LAW ENFORCEMENT! I went to the Sheriff also - got short shrift. I warned him that one day, his dept was going to be very embarrassed - and indeed they were, -
Yes, the GSUSA does allow male leaders, but I believe they cannot be "principal leader" (i.e., can't be the top unit leader, such as the Cubmaster or Scoutmaster in the BSA).

In which case, it seems only logical that the same rule should apply to homosexuals in charge of boys, for the same reason.
I assume that Philadelphia doesn't prejudice against them... but then, it's the homosexuals who require preferential treatment, above the needs of the children... as usual.
I think a whole stream of Christians should apply for leadership positions in gay organizations and we'll see how equally open they are to leadership that is opposed to their organization's core values.
"In which case, it seems only logical that the same rule should apply to homosexuals in charge of boys, for the same reason."
And what reason would that be?
The REST of the AGENDA:
While most homosexual activist groups publicly denounce NAMBLA and its agenda, the pedophile group is still allowed to march in "gay" pride parades in New York, San Francisco and Boston under its own NAMBLA banner.
Furthermore, some suggest that public disavowal of NAMBLA by homosexual groups is a smokescreen. David Thorstad, a founding member of NAMBLA and former president of New Yorks Gay Activists Alliance, says homosexual activists have supressed pedophilia in order "to sanitize the image of homosexuality to facilitate its entrance into the social mainstream."
The corrupt left favors that which favors it. Birds of a feather flock together...
Oh granted. However, I'll bet that the original town fathers had a different idea than the current setup.
