Do the Girl Scouts (or whatever they are called) allow male Leaders?... and if not, what is the reason?

We see that question every so often, and it's a good question indeed. I'm not sure the question has ever been answered without imposing a double standard.

Yes, the GSUSA does allow male leaders, but I believe they cannot be "principal leader" (i.e., can't be the top unit leader, such as the Cubmaster or Scoutmaster in the BSA).
