Demonstrators waved signs and flags to express their views on the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah on Friday afternoon at Shaw and Blackstone avenues in Fresno.
About 50 people gathered at 5:30 p.m. at one corner of the intersection to support Israel. About 15 people were at the other side of the street to protest Israel's military campaign in Lebanon.

I did a head count at 1730 hours and I counted about 13 on their corner, and about 70 on our corner.

Just as you might expect, the Fresno Bee undercounted the pro-Israel demonstrators and overcounted the "peaceniks." They quoted three pro-Islamists and only two from the pro-Israel group, despite the fact that the pro-Islamists were outnumbered by more than five to one, according to your count. Apparently this kind of reporting is in keeping with the MSM's concept of "fair and balanced." Just as you might expect.

My vision was partially obscured at times by traffic and people kept moving. 13 was a high estimate, and there could have been only 11. On our side, I started on one end and counted to the other end.

This was my first event. I dragged my wife and 6 year old son on a hot 2 hour drive across the valley to be there. It was 110 degrees outside and we choked on exhaust fumes.
It was a wonderful, glorious day, spent with good people, and making a small but worthwhile difference. I'd highly recommend you try it sometime!

Ron Sawl, who was waving Israeli and American flags, said he was driving home from work when he saw the demonstration and decided to join it. "Israel is our partner against terrorism," he said. "Israel is under siege and they need to know that they have our support."
This gentleman is a Patriot. We would all do well to join in supporting Israel and its fight and ultimate victory over Hezbollah, Hamas and other terrorist groups.

Thanks to all of you for your support of Israel and your endurance of the Fresno heat. I know what that heat is like having spent over 20 years there.

Looked like a big crowd as I drove by and honked my horn. Man it was hot. It was 110 and it will be 111 today.

What afnamvet said. Thank you.

Thank you for being there to support Israel!
The usual formula used in reporting the turnout is to take the antis and multiply by three, while dividing by three the number of supporters. The Bee did pretty well, all things considered. ;*)

You should have stopped and jumped out for a few minutes, waved a flag, and then fled. LOL - thanks though.
