Enemies of Free Republic sign up to post obscene and vile threads. I've seen a number of them lately, usually on the theme of child-rape. It seems there is a concerted effort to drive Freepers away from the site in disgust. The Mods are quick, still I wonder if it's wise to allow people to sign up and immediately post? I'm a Dollar-a-Day donor to FR and I want this wonderful place to flourish as family-friendly site. I wonder what other Freepers think?
Nope. troll zotting is far too much fun. Besides, some trolls hide for a long time.
j/k
I think you've got a good idea there.
I signed up a few days ago, and every time I post I'm accused of something - "isn't it convenient you just signed up to post about this topic" etc etc.
Hrrmm, I'm serving in the Israeli army, a war just broke out - isn't that a good time to sign up? LOL
Probation periods are good. At least there'd be less paranoia too about new users.
I mostly lurk; probably read at least 5,000 posts for every one I post. I've definitely noticed an influx of ill-intentioned 'rats lately.
I think we could have a policy that's *at least* as strict as that.
You object to liberals demonstrating how deluded they are?
That's not necessarily a bad thing. :)
I thought the child-rape threads were about illegal immigrants.
I saw that post..we should have that person tracked down and revealed and if possible arrested.....if that person who posted that needs a lesson I'd be happy to oblige
Nothing gets me started for the day better than zotted trolls.
God Bless and keep you safe.
That was the rule a few years back.
I think it's better that they join and shoot their wad the first day or two, rather than go some probationary period and become sleeper trolls.
We have enough of those already.
Things will settle down. There is always a surge in this kind of stuff during election years.
Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran. :)
DUmmieland will censor you if you post any remark that's even gently critical of the Democrats.
In other words, their powers determine what are good for the people. We have stronger minds here. Leave things as they are; we have no reason to be as weak as liberals.
For reasons that would take a while to explain,Freepers are quite wary of newcomers...particularly those who seem to be less than enthusiastic about the "conservative" message.
As time goes on,folks here will come to realize that you're for real, friend.
Welcome to FR!
Move on...
