Israel was amassing thousands more reservists on the Lebanese border to stage ground incursions aimed at destroying Hezbollah positions, warning it would not rule out a full-scale invasion despite mounting calls for a ceasefire.

Mike Rogers, a member of the intelligence committee in the House of Representatives who was briefed on the Middle East situation during a recent trip to Iraq, said Syria has more than 1,000 agents in southern Lebanon, either working directly for Syrian intelligence or compensated by Syria for information. He says they are there 'to cause trouble' and help prop up Hizbollah offensively and defensively.

Lebanon is only one-fourth the size of Denmark. In a country that small, Rogers said, "A thousand intelligence agents is unbelievable. It's huge."

Along with Syria's agents, Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard is believed to be providing military advisers to Hizbollah, with some level of co-ordination with Syria, according to Anthony Cordesman, a Middle East expert with the Washington-based Center for Strategic and International Studies, and to US officials.

that's the other part of this "outrage" over civilian deaths in lebanon that is insane - radical islam could care less about civilians, even their own, they blow them up daily in iraq by the dozen.

While it is appreciated that FOX NEWS motto is "fair and balanced"...it is another thing for the enemy's propaganda to be broadcast from your reporter, Shep Smith.

Bill Hemmer, Jennifer Griffin, Dana Lewis and Mike Tobin have been superb- as have David Lee Miller Amy Kellogg. Send Shep home and ship Steve Harrigan to the ME in his place. His hysteria on LIVE tv sans editing is benefiting Hizbullah, a worldwide TERRORIST ORGANIZATION.

Before Katrina- Shep was a minor annoyance- but not enough to keep me from FOX. Now- when I see him reporting- I turn to CNN...

Wow pretty powerful stuff Ali! Boortz at his finest hour. I too will take the muslim "religion of peace" a lot more seriously once they start turning in the known terror types that hide in their mosques. I don't see that happening yet.

couple observations

1) 117 rockets fired today into Northern Israel, which is close to the peak levels of Hizbullah firing, airstrikes just aren't going to cut it, a swath needs to be cleared out of southern lebanon

2) interesting article on Ynet re building of detention ceters with defense officials specualting this may signal IDFs intentions on a long ground offensive
