It just was too tempting. I couldn't resist and yes, Shep did nothing but whine. I had to turn it.

Don't let me interrupt. You ladies carry on now ;-)

"Funny think is, I actually have a very dry sense of humor, and hear or read most jokes without even a grin."

I'm the same way. Then some really dumb corny thing will come along and crack me up. I remember initially looking down my nose at Jim Carrey movies. Thought they were "just a guy thing" - until I actually watched one and loved him.

He was only copying Brian Williams.

I think of what damage they are doing to our security and I want to smack someone.

My father's family fought in every American war - date back to the 1700's. My mother's family came in time for my Great Grandfather to fight in the Spanish-American War.

Does the management of the New York Times believe families with loved ones who have died preserving their right to print their fish wrap will condone their betrayals?

I think their stockholders are the ones we should begin contacting about our displeasure with managerial decisions that jeopardize the security of our troops and this nation.

/rant off

Dr. Rice is not going to the Saudis. The Saudi princes, one of them is Bandar, are coming to the White House on Sunday to meet with the President and Condi. Then she leaves for Rome.

I'll try to find an article for you.

You know, after the total crap I've heard spewed forth from "reporters" all damn day, I'm not sure if what Brian Williams asked that brave soldier makes me white hot with anger or if it just plain breaks my heart. Just damn.

The man obviously has no heart. sickening.

I wonder how long the Hezbulla terrorists can hold out in their caves and tunnels if Israel plays the game like the "insurgents" -- run in, make a quick pin-point attack, run back out, keep doing this for months. In the meantime keep Hez from being resupplied, or retreating from their bunkers. If Hez is expecting Israel to come in guns blazing in a huge assault, Hezbulla may not be preprared for a long, drawn out "insurgency" by Israel.

conventional wisdom says Israel doesn't have months to do what it needs, because of international and domestic pressures

Look what the English have to contend with:
Yesterday’s cartoon in England’s Guardian

Today’s Correction: “Yesterday’s cartoon on page 29 (Comment) portrayed Israeli military action in Lebanon in the form of a mailed fist with Stars of David as knuckle-dusters. By failing to identify them in a specifically Israeli form - such as in the colours of the flag - the point the cartoon was making might have been interpreted as implicating Judaism rather than the Israeli government in the present conflict. That was not the intention, and we are sorry if anyone saw it that way.” HT Harry's Place

Neighborhood Bully ~ Bob Dylan ~

Well, the neighborhood bully, he's just one man,
His enemies say he's on their land.
They got him outnumbered about a million to one,
He got no place to escape to, no place to run.
He's the neighborhood bully.

The neighborhood bully just lives to survive,
He's criticized and condemned for being alive.
He's not supposed to fight back, he's supposed to have thick skin,
He's supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in.
He's the neighborhood bully.

The neighborhood bully been driven out of every land,
He's wandered the earth an exiled man.
Seen his family scattered, his people hounded and torn,
He's always on trial for just being born.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, he knocked out a lynch mob, he was criticized,
Old women condemned him, said he should apologize.
Then he destroyed a bomb factory, nobody was glad.
The bombs were meant for him.
He was supposed to feel bad.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, the chances are against it and the odds are slim
That he'll live by the rules that the world makes for him,
'Cause there's a noose at his neck and a gun at his back
And a license to kill him is given out to every maniac.
He's the neighborhood bully.

He got no allies to really speak of.
What he gets he must pay for, he don't get it out of love.
He buys obsolete weapons and he won't be denied
But no one sends flesh and blood to fight by his side.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Well, he's surrounded by pacifists who all want peace,
They pray for it nightly that the bloodshed must cease.
Now, they wouldn't hurt a fly.
To hurt one they would weep.
They lay and they wait for this bully to fall asleep.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Every empire that's enslaved him is gone,
Egypt and Rome, even the great Babylon.
He's made a garden of paradise in the desert sand,
In bed with nobody, under no one's command.
He's the neighborhood bully.

Now his holiest books have been trampled upon,
No contract he signed was worth what it was written on.
He took the crumbs of the world and he turned it into wealth,
Took sickness and disease and he turned it into health.
He's the neighborhood bully.

What's anybody indebted to him for?
Nothin', they say.
He just likes to cause war.
Pride and prejudice and superstition indeed,
They wait for this bully like a dog waits to feed.
He's the neighborhood bully.

What has he done to wear so many scars?
Does he change the course of rivers?
Does he pollute the moon and stars?
Neighborhood bully, standing on the hill,
Running out the clock, time standing still,
Neighborhood bully.

There are some days I don't turn on the TV all day, other days when I turn it on, it's off again quickly (disgust) and sometimes I keep the local KCAL9 news rolling while I'm FReeping.

On another topic, your tagline caused me to read the entire book of Micah this morning.

:-)
