Yes it does. You can tell if the person is a red-head, blonde, blue-eyed, boy, girl, etc. by the genes at the moment of conception if you had access to them. A fully, genetically formed, unique new human - or humans if it divides by mitosis to form identical twins.

Did you know before 1869, the Catholic Church's official policy was that a human embryo did not have a soul until the woman was at least 6 weeks pregnant?

Did you know that Thomas Aquinas thought that the male sperm contained the nascent human, with the female contributing nothing but the womb?

Science changes these moral judgments.

Until the Church can be certain when life begins, it errs on the side of caution and protects a fertilized egg as a human life.

btw, can you give an example of something that 'modern' conservatives want the taxpayers to fund? As a long time moral and fiscal conservative, I'd like to know what you're referring to.

Ok.. How about farm bill- a massive injection of funds into rural communities at the expense of the taxpayer. Do you believe good descent rural folk that can't compete deserve a special treatment ? Most modern conservatives do. What about Tariff's on steel from the chinese ( Punishing the consumer) to help AMERICAN producers as many modern conservatives demanded. Programs to reduce number of teenage pregnancies and abortions ( whilst fantastic) are NOT something the taxpayers should have to fork out for. BTW I acknowledge that the Liberals gouge the taxpayers far far more cruelly and consistently and there are many conservatives fed up with the government spending like a drunken sailor..

Actually he's right. This administration has supplanted a successful condom distribution program in Uganda with an abstinence program. Well AIDS has sky rocketed since the change. We can't even control sexual activity in our own high schools but were going to curtail it in a 3rd world tribe.
Innocent people are dying because of this administrations fairy tale beliefs.
