Major Bevelacqua on O'Reilly Compared Israel to the Nazis for their "Lack of Comprimise"

Posted on 07/18/2006 5:13:29 PM PDT by Yaakov The Orator

On the O'Reilly Factor, Maj. Bob Bevelacqua compared the Israel to the Nazis for their so-called lack of comprimise. He said that Israel going out of Lebanon and Gaza was like "The Nazis going out of Moscow" and proceeded to say that Israel needed to be more willing to comprimise.

This incompetent nincompoopishness is probably why his advancement stopped at Major, and he quit the military and became a talking head.

Since the Arabs bought a seat on the Board of Fox, things have begun to change there. Expect a virtual twin to CNN in a few years.

What about old Glen Beck? Was he the kid that played Ralphie in "The Christmas Story"? I know he's too old, but Glen sure looks like that kid.

Your comments about officers are a bit self-centered and bitter. There are plenty of good officers who take as many risks and work as hard as their enlisted troops. Then again I knew plenty who rose in rank because of who they knew and who they blew. Based on your arithmetic I was promoted 4 times to the rank of Sgt (USMC) and 3 times to the rank of major (AF) for a total of 7 promotions. Does that make me almost twice the expert you are? The guy is a twit and he would be just as big a twit if he were a retired SgtMaj as he is as a retired Maj.

"The same can be said for Wes Clark who always gets his DNC talking points in."

I completely agree. Clark has made an utter fool out of himself many times on FOX, which endears him to his wacky farleft base. Clark was the Nato Supreme Commander who ordered General Jackson, the Brit, to stop the Russians from advancing to Pristina. Jackson refused to follow the order stating that he was not going to start WW III by following those silly orders from Clark. Clark was cashiered by the clintonites soon after that, than the dolt came back home and became a clintonista. Go figure.

I don't recall him ever saying anything of value. OTOH Generals Vallely and McIneeney are the best militRY EXPERTS ON TV.
Wes is nothing but a DNC hack.I can't imagine how he was made a general.

Dear Pamela,
I am speaking with Lebanese Christians in Lebanon and they are all fine. Israel is not bombing them or their towns. Israel is bombing the Shiite radical strong holds. This is what the news is not telling you. Israel bombed the airport, the port and the bridges to Syria because they are used to transport weapons and support to Hezbollah. The Lebanese army doesn't even have an airforce or airplanes. They only have helicopters. The airport was used to bring support to Husballah and that's why Israel bombed the infrastructure.

Huzballah is the "A Team" of terrorist organizations. They are more organized, more lethal, more structured and more calculated than Al-Qaeda. It is Husballah who is training Al-Qaeda members in south Lebanon, and in the Bekaa and southern Beirut where Israel is bombing. It is those same Al-Qaeda terrorists who are trained in Lebanon, are the ones who travel via Syria into Iraq and Afghanistan. Israel is doing the job that the world powers and UN should have done a long time ago.

It is also in Lebanon and Husballah where these terrorists are developing the roadside bombs used on our marines and soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those same terrorists have cells in America and ready to unleash suicide bombing here in America.

As sad as I feel watching what is happening in Lebanon, it is absolutely necessary to support Israel to kill the cancer that has spread and is killing the Lebanese body. Israel is not targeting civilians. Israel is targeting terrorists. Israel has launched 3000 air strikes on Lebanon since the beginning of the Operation and inflicted only 122 casualties. If Israel's intention was to kill civilians you would have seen many more civilian deaths than only 122. They are being extremely careful, even dropping flyers and urging civilians to leave before they bomb. These casualties are "terrorists" and terrorist families and sympathizers.

Please read this article from Debbie Schlussel. She hits the nail on the head. Not all American-Lebanese there are terrorist sympathizers. There is a minority of Christians vacationing there too. However the majority of the Muslims have connections to Husballah. Brigitte

Bevelacqua -
" Saying the Israelis pulled out of Lebanon, is like saying the Nazis pulled out of Moscow."
"They invaded Lebanon, they invaded Gaza ."
"They take homes and then give them back and expect some great recognition."

" Israel is isolated, basically an island. "
" And that's because they lack the word (said syllable by syllable ala Biden ) com... pro... mise."
" They refuse to sit down and compromise."

" Israel supposedly has the most sophisticated security operation in the world and very easily could have penetrated Hezbollah and taken it down from the inside out."

"You don't understand, here on FR you must agree with everything Israel does or you will immediately be marginalized"

Israel was attacked by Hezbollah, not the other way around. Israel withdrew from Lebanon SIX YEARS AGO. There is no occuption by Jews of Lebanon. Hezbollah, probably at the instructions of Iran and/or Syria, attacked without provocation, killed Israeli soldiers, and kidnapped two of them after invading Israeli territory to do their dastardly deed. Now, if you can't figure out who's at fault here, your complete political ignorance is showing bigtime. And perhaps you, like Major Bob, don't like Jews that much, do you. Trying to mask it like Buchanan does. But the majority of Freepers will see through you, I suspect. I do.

Thank you for reminding me! I amend my opinion, and, if I could, my post.
I'd forgotten the drawdown. I live by an AF base and they just make rank so fast! Not like in the Navy (not that i'm an expert on officer's rank) where it was usually harder to rise in the ranks.
I'm a Navy wife (enlisted dh retired in 2000)
I guess the truth is I wanted to believe the worst about this guy. :D
I'm sorry I got caught up in the moment.

I still don't like him. Something about him sets my teeth on edge.

You just don't get it. See, Major Bob, Pat and I don't hate Jews...what we dislike is the disproportionate influence the Jewish lobby has on our foreign policy. Our one-sided support for Israel makes us hated in most of the rest of the world. You need to understand some simple facts. In order to create Israel the Jews had to steal other folks property. They did this without compensation to the folks they stole the land from. These folks and their kin are still pretty pissed off about that. Until this gets addressed there will be no peace in the MidEast. I'm an "America first" kinda guy...you are an "Israel first" kinda person. Let's just leave it at that.

Anyone know if it is customary for a Major to keep their "rank" title upon exiting the service?

I know that it is common to see retired Generals and Colonels identified as such, but it looks odd with a Major.
