True.
Luther Strange cleaned up in the Birmingham and Mobile areas. There seems to be something of an urban-rural divide, with Wallace winning the small-town votes that his father relied on but Strange winning the urban/suburban areas that southern Republicans traditionally rely on.
Well in fairness, I would toast a Cynthia McKinney defeat and she alone would assure Georgia a Republican national representation for years to come.
Cain.
Cynthia McKinney's district will only elect Moonbat Democrats. And the only thing McKinney accomplishes is that she makes her fellow Moonbats look bad.
So isn't it better that McKinney win the election and continue to make her party look bad?
May it hold!
I, for one, would rather have an idiot free House.
I'm so utterly disgusted at her comments and actions, that it'd be great to see her get tossed out on her ear.
Outside of Georgia, I just don't see her name mentioned much either on the news or in GOP fundraising letters.
Unless, of course, she's assaulting a police officer.
Not gonna happen anytime soon.
You are right. But Cynthia is a giant in the idiot ranks.
I would rather have a house on the lake. And a Porsche.
Cain.
Though I will say, Isakson has been a pleasant surprise. I thought he would be more "squishy" on certain issues, and so far, I haven't seen that.
LOL
Yes.
It looks to me like Isakson does what Saxby tells him to do which is okay by me.
Here's a bit of trivia:
Denise Majette, who unseated Cynthia McKinney in 2002 and lost the 2004 Senate race to Johnny Isakson, is the Democratic nominee for state Superintendent of Public Schools.
George Wallace Jr. is full of crap. He was a loyal LIBERAL Dem throughout the era of Reagan, even when the gipper won Alabama by an absolute landslide. His daddy was a economically left-wing New Deal Democrat who happily REJOINED the RAT party and endorsed the likes of Jimmy Carter after his failed "third party" bid didn't work.
George Wallace Jr. is a "Republican" for one reason and one reason alone: AFTER the GOP revolution of 1994, it became extremely difficult to get elected statewide in Alabama as a RAT, so Wallace "had to" join the GOP to continue to cling to power.
The Wallace's will say or do ANYTHING to stay in power. George Wallace Sr. went from being mindly pro-civil rights (early 50s), to hard core segregationist (60s), to affirmative action luvin' liberal (late 80s) who won the majority of the black vote.
Having the son of Mr. "Segregation Forever" on the GOP ticket is almost as embarrassing as when the son (Jeff Tomczak) of one of Chicago Mayor Daley's top Democrat Machine activists (Donald Tomczak) call himself a "Republican" solely to "win" out in the staunchly Republican Will County (suburban turf) and then promptly got indicted and convicted over the hired trucks scandal in Chicago. The media loved that one, now they could falsely claim a "Republican" was involved in the Chicago RAT fiasco.
The national media would have loved to have the son of the biggest Democrat race baiter on the planet as the face of "Republicans" in Alabama. And people say Roy Moore embarrases the GOP? Roy Moore looks like saint compared to Wallace.
Meanwhile, I whole heartily endorse the Riley/Strange ticket in 2006.
I agree. I didn't care for Isakson in the House (I'm in his old district) but he's a lot better in the Senate. (but I still wish Herman Cain won)
Not being al Alabama resident, I didn't know that.
In any event, Strange won the runoff with 54% or 55% of the vote, sweeping Birmingham and Mobile.
Speaking of McKinney (gag), the election results in her district are awfully slow in reporting.
