U.S. Rescue Bogs Down in Lebanon

BEIRUT — Thousands of Americans whose vacations and business trips to Lebanon have degenerated with sickening speed into stints in a battle zone remained stranded here under Israeli bombardment Monday, their frustration and anger mounting because the U.S. government hasn't gotten them out faster.

Waiting around Beirut with bags packed and fingers crossed, U.S. citizens derided the embassy for busy phone lines, a lack of information and gnawing uncertainty over when and whether they will get out. Hundreds were expected to be shipped to Cyprus today, but how long the full evacuation will take remains uncertain.

I don't know how many times I have to explain this to you.

#1. I never brought up the freeper families working on extraction to BykrBabs again.

Without going back and looking at my posts over 400 posts back, my recollection is that the issue came up from other posters who answered for her and brought it up to me, but I never brought it up again. Now, that's my recollection and you're free to try and prove me wrong, but you've been unsuccessful to date and you clearly went back and looked at a lot of posts and did a lot of work.

#2. As to my calling the suspended/banned freeper a liar -- the first time I called her a liar is when she said to me that I had condemned some freepers to hell.

That is untrue and it's demonstrably untrue.

#3. When freepers asked me what she lied about, I told them about #2 above. I don't believe I ever referenced the extraction by freeper families again. To anyone.

Now, you are free to go back 400 posts or more and look through all my posts. It's relatively easy (but boring) to do. But I don't believe I ever mentioned to anyone that BykrBabs was lying about the freeper's family/extraction issue.

I've read the exchanges and I saw her rush in with her talking points that she posted to rebel.

I Was horrified for rebel , & thought what would I do if i was in that situation ???????

I felt compelled to post again because I Was outraged by the venom direceted to Rebel by some

It took me quite awhile to remember my screen name & password too LOL

I was so upset , & just wanted rebel to get home safe .

I didn't post to try to cause divison . That was not my intent .

I was hoping that if i was trapped somewhere , & there was a good chance of death . That someone who tried to help & encourage me .

I never recieved any talking points from anybody .

I read where Rebel posted he was 100% behind Israel , & were he wanted Syria & Iran cut off at the head

I also understand how some freepers took Rebel's comments the other way too

So , it's like alot of Rebels different opinions where discettted , magnified ,etc...

The side that seemed to be against Rebel took his comments one way , & the other side for Rebel the opposite way.

I Think everyone who reads this thread knows how I Feel .

People have strong ideas , & no matter what I Post about rebel you Krodg have already made up your mind as to what you want to believe .

Yes , I Did select to focus on Rebel's Pro- Israel statements .

You will believe what every you already think about rebel probalby .

I am getting tired of argueing , but I do believe in responding. I don't tend to shy away when it comes to confrotations.

I also FIRMLY believe in having the Right to change my mind if I Think it's the right thing to do .

Whenever someone made an ignorant or mean spirited comment to rebel I Took it personally .

I Can disagree with someone , & respect the other person's position too .

I did get in alot of arguements complaining about Bill Clinton. But I always could bring up one bad fact about Bill Clinton that even democrats couldn't argue with me ABOUT. Yes , I ACTUALLY Did get democrats to agree with me .

Krodg as for the mocking part , my apogoly to Tammy8 was sincere . I did think Tammy8 deserved an apology from me dvdmom

You need to read post 1235, 1236, 1247 and re-read the post where I pulled up some of your posts- this is all answered there though you will never admit it, I'm sure.

I would like to point out one more time, I posted this before but not with this much detail- this thread started with an article in the LA Times about people stranded in Lebanon- you should re-read the article that started this thread. In that article it talked of people who were there on vacation, it talked of people who were complaining that evacuees would be charged, it talked of people with all sorts of reasons for being in Lebanon.

Rebel posted the article, and mentioned he was in similiar circumstances. Many of the posts you and others complained about on this thread were posted about the article itself and not to rebel personally- they were addressed to rebel because he was the poster of the article- normal for FR.

Some of the freeper to freeper talk about vacationers, and whiners, and issues with travel out of the country and most of the other things that upset you in this thread were addressing the article- not rebel personally.

Some others on the thread got confused especially if they did not read the article and thought the same thing you did.

Yes there were snide remarks made directly to rebel, most were in response to statements he made about Israel and the Navy ships taking their time.

Yes there were posters on the thread that blasted rebel- that always happens on any thread, the funny thing is- those were not the freepers you chose to blast on his behalf.

Peach, at least twice on this thread after you started blasting posters you admitted you were not reading this thread- at least once you said you were only responding to pings.

It is a shame you did not read the article and the thread before blasting so many.

If you don't believe me start with the article and then read from post one and follow the back and forth as you would have if you had been on the thread. You will find many of the posts that you objected so strongly to never mentioned rebel- and for good reason, they were not about him, they referred to the people in the article.

It was perfectly acceptable to you to call me a POS until someone else popped in to say it's over the top. THEN with a disclaimer attached (a 'little' over the top) an apology is offered.
