You mean this: Arab press sources close to the Hizbullah say that residents of Tel Aviv will be given one hour to flee before the terrorist group launches a barrage of missiles at the city...."The Lebanese resistance is preparing a retaliation parallel to Israel's military actions. Hassan Nasrallah will address the people of Tel Aviv and warn them to evacuate the city within one hour. As soon as the delay ends, hundreds of heavy missiles will start landing in the city, which has been divided into squares in order to let damage reach every inch of the city. An estimated 500 missiles are expected to land in Tel Aviv in a short period of time."

I knew about this earlier this afternoon. My friends daughter who lives in Israel called him and told him her friend was called up and was going into Lebanon.

Pray for him, pray for them all.

I would have thought after 9/11 that we would have at least kept close tabs on which Muslims we let into the country.

How very un-PC of you. Maybe you should take some CAIR classes .

Or, I guess you could say, it goes back to the lack of a depression since the 30's. You're right that most pre-boomer and boomer kids had a pretty easy life.

The whiners are rapidly becoming a majority, which gives me considerable pessimism about the future of the nation. California's sort of the prototype for what happens when you can get elected by promising the voters the most freebies.

President Bush said Tuesday he suspects Syria is trying to reassert influence in Lebanon more than a year after Damascus ended

I've had that same feeling.

When an army crosses a border, it is an invasion.

I lay it squarely at the feet of LBJ's Great Society.

That can't be! The border issue is strictly a racial issue. /s

John Batchelor switched to Russian analysis -- state taking back oil, gas and now mineral companies privatized under Yeltsin. Will give west some time to deal with Iran, but then will see Russia and Iran become partners and take sides against us. Once again will have cold war with nuclear weapons.

This was a problem for a lot of Roman history, and it caused the fall of the Republic, for sure, and allowed the political instability that allowed the rise of the Emperor. And the way it played out in Athens gave democracy a bad name for many centuries.

I am not happy to see a new mosque opening in the Iranian neighborhood (aka, the "Persian Gulf") of Los Angeles.

I also learned, from another thread, of mosques near me that are not visible from the street, but hidden behind other businesses.

NOT happy.
