Nothing has changed, except Israel may be in greater peril today than at any time in its modern history.

I love Cal but he is losing it if he believes Israel is in a worse situation today than they were during the Yom Kippur War.

I know these things because I am STILL in Lebanon, with no contact (not even an email) from the State Department, one week after I "registered" with their online system. Finally, I got someone to pull some strings, finding out that I was NOT registered. At least NOW I'm registered. Not that it is doing any good.

They're busy, didn't you know there's a war going on.
/laugh so you don't cry

Hey buddy you be careful! You get yourself hurt, I will be....displeased.

Ynet: Indonesia offers troops to peacekeeping force in Lebanon

Let me fix that...

The famed "Arab street" is not stepping up for Hezbollah...

What has happened to the much vaunted "Arab street"?

Four years ago the Arab street was something we were all supposed to be worried about. Now it seems that the Arab street may be tired of betting on the wrong horse all of the time.

Mr. Nasrallah,

The beatings will continue until morale improves.

That's a promise,

A present and future IDF supporter.

Remember Syria banned US from going to/through Syria two days ago (not others)... they were trying to convince them to do otherwise (state).

The only glue that binds the sunni to the shiite to the egyptian/north african to the idonesian muslim is a single target of hate. Israel.

When Israel makes itself non targetable, then the dogs of hate will eat each other up. That is foundation their religion -- hate. "Directed Active Hate" is waht Jihad means, and "Salaam" means only non-directed hate. Remove the magnetic field from their North Pole of Hate -- Israel, and they will run that hate out against themselves.

If Israel makes itself unassailable -- and we help it do so -- we gain a great peace.

Fox just showed a new women's brigade of the Al Aksah Martyrs in Gaza. I notice they all have on matching baseball caps with some sort of logo printed on them.

I noticed that. Found myself thinking, "Well, brand new uniforms and brand new rifles. They must have some money SOMEWHERE."

To better visualize what's going on in the ME, I threw together a Middle East Interactive Map folks. You can use the arrows on the right to pan around and zoom in or out or if using IE, double click on the map itself to zoom in.

Check it out and let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Good excuse to send in more troops and arms to the area.

No offense, but anyone who depends on Foggy Bottom/Uncle Sam for anything needs his/her head examined. In the event of a diaster, natural or otherwise, folks should be prepared to take responsibility for their own safety.

...release the captured Israeli soldiers.

I fear it's not possible, but I hope I'm wrong. HZ-b'allah doesn't care much for saving anyone's life, even those of bargaining chips.

Apparently the Palestinians are starving but have no trouble doing custom print jobs on ball caps.

One can get ANYTHING from e-bay. ;) It's a priority thing. Look-alike martyr moms are more important than starving children.

OT:

Fox said that Tony Snow would be giving his WH press briefing today at noon. I'm not sure if I'll be back by that time, but I'll look for a thread about the briefing and will read it with interest.
