Jeff Foxworthy is, of course, my favorite of the four members of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Two lines of his are especially memorable to me. "You might be a redneck if directions to your house include the phrase, 'When you turn off the paved road....' " That line applies to me. I live at the end of a half-mile gravel road in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The other one is, "You might be a redneck if you have ever been too drunk to fish." Think about that one. How is that possible, since you can fish while lying flat on your back with the fishing line tried to your big toe. LOL. That's downright philosophical.

Ah, but you never notice the tug on the toe when you're ralphing up your guts.
See, I've thought about this. ;^)

Tens of millions of lives would have been saved if the world had responded to Hitler “disproportionately” in 1938.
According to F.K. Winterbotham in The Nazi Connection, the time to take Hitler out was before 1936. By 1938 the British were still a year away from having enough trained pilots and Spitfires (the British PM was wise enough to know air power would be the key to staving off a Nazi invasion of his country). The Me109s were far superior to the Hurricanes and Bison fighters the British had at the time. A war in 1938 would have meant the defeat of both Britain and France. Chamberlain's "peace in our time" was nothing more than buying time for Britain. He was also well aware the French miliary and gov. was shot thru with Nazi sympathizers and that they would likely not withstand a German assault.

I think there may still be some men like George Patton, but, sadly, they would not be allowed to make a speech like this one today. If they did, I am afraid they would either be demoted or given a dishonorable discharge. George Patton knew what his job was, and boy, did he do it!
God rest his soul.

wouldn’t have these problems in the Middle East if we’d had “a Democrat Administration for the last six years.”

We would still have NK, Stinky in charge of Iran, Usama, Hezbollah, Chavez, Illegal Aliens (well maybe they would all be voting citizens now) and to make our world complete, Sadam.

"One fatal flaw of libs is their inability to see evil when it appears."

It's hard to see something you don't believe in to begin with. Evil is essentially a development from monotheistic religions; primarily Judaism and Christianity. Philosophy, in comparison, mostly downplays (if not disputes) its existence.

Liberalism is as much a religion unto itself as it is a political belief. Evil as a concept plays very little part in its belief system.

"One fatal flaw of libs is their inability to see evil when it appears."

Actually, libs recognize evil. They also think themselves so intelectually advanced (evolution, donchyaknow) that "evil" is subject to (their) superior reasoning.

To libs, evil can be convinced to become good.

My father is near Eidson, TN, on the other side of "them thar hills"... and he loves your pieces nearly as much as I do.
