It wasn't meant to be overheard. Private luncheon conversations among world leaders, picked up by a microphone, provided a rare window into both banter and substance - including President Bush cursing Hezbollah's attacks against Israel.
Bush expressed his frustration with the United Nations and his disgust with the militant Islamic group and its backers in Syria as he talked to British Prime Minister Tony Blair during the closing lunch at the Group of Eight summit.
"See the irony is that what they need to do is get Syria to get Hezbollah to stop doing this (expletive) and it's over," Bush told Blair as he chewed on a buttered roll.

Thank you. Clearly I should have said that sooner. I had visions of providing the scripture, and then going on to another thread! Silly me.
:)

There are no accidents, just as Reagan's "We start the bombing in five minutes..." was no accident.
Bush knew exactly what he was doing, and I say "Good on him."
Some people have too much time.

He needs a few, "The missles will be in the air in 5 minutes" -comments too.
Can't you guys stay on topic???? Oops, I forgot, this is FR, nevermind...
No scholar (Bible or any other kind) here ether and I am by no means saying your understanding of this verse is incorrect. Rather I was commenting that you had brought something to my attention that I had not previously considered.
Watch that log in your eye.
Jimmy Carter is the president you're looking for.
Who left these mics on?
You need to finish the rest of that text...and not stop there...you also need to take it in context with other scriptures. The bible NEVER tells Christians not to judge each other. Never. It tells us to judge righteous judgment (John 7:24). And Jesus, in the passage you quote says that once the log is out of YOUR eye, then you CAN see clearly to CAST the beam out of your brothers eye (verse 5). That IS judging. If you are using the passage as a verse to say you cannot judge....then you clearly have a problem now...because Jesus says basically "don't be a hypocrite about judging. If you caren't guilty of the same sin...help your brother out with his. This goes along with the same command found in Galatians 6:1 - "Brothers, if someone is caught in any wrongdoing, you who are spiritual should restore such a person with a gentle spirit, watching out for yourselves so you won't be tempted also."
Read 1 Corinthians 5:12, 13: " For what is it to me to judge outsiders (those who are not beleivers)? Do you not judge those who are inside (believers)? But God judges outsiders. Put away the evil person from among yourselves.
We do not really "judge" sin amongst the body, God does in His word. However, letting someone know they are sinning is NOT judging...it is letting them know God's opinion of the matter...IF they are professing Christians. We are not to judge the sins of those who are not Christians (again, 1 Cor 5.), except their sin of rejecting Christ. We are, however, to "judge" the sin of those INSIDE the body.

I think he was speaking in direct reference to the idiots calling for a "cease fire" while not addressing the issue(s) that set off the shooting. Instead of using those meaningless words-"cease fire", he simply meant that the U(seless) N should force Syria to reign in its client terrorist organization (Hezbollah), rather than attempting to get both sides to stop for no apparent reason.
I don't think he expects terrorists to "stop", but he was merely pointing out the cluelessness of Koffi, et al.
The Russian TV crew :)
Barbara should wash his mouth out with soap.
Poor tmp02, walked right into this one. Shouldnt have tried to prove the world is flat. Tmp02 youre just wrong here. There is no mandate by our Lord to refrain from using what YOU deem as a vulgar colloquialism. Anyways youre missing the whole the point of the Sermon on the Mount, Brother. Jesus walked amongst the moneylenders, prostitutes, homeless and tax collectors. I never read anywhere him admonishing anyone for intemperate speech. Youre confusing a Calvinistic approach to holiness with Christian essentials. Id just drop the issue and stop trying to pray out of your prayer closet so much. That my friend is a sin and thats not debatable.
Yep. I think you are correct and I might have been a bit hasty in my conclusion.
I should have known
