NEWS FLASH MISSING ISRAELI SOLDIERS HELD AT THE IRANIAN EMBASSY IN BEIRUT

Delicate Intelligence information coming out of Hezbollah indicated that the 2 missing captives of the Israeli Army Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev have been smuggled outside Southern Lebanon to the capital.

They are secretly being held at the Embassy of Iran in Beirut, under direct Iranian security guards supervision.

Sounds like an invitation to attack the embassy doesn't it? An attack on the embassy would certainly call Irans bluff.

If the Israeli soldiers are in the Iranian embassy in Beirut, that sounds like a decent ploy to keep that embassy from being bombed.

The Iranian embassy in Damascus, on the other hand, has no such impediments.

I wonder if the Red Cross has access to these "prisoners", or does that only apply to "Gitmo"?

How about Kosher food and a Torah? Is anybody in the world outraged at this? /sarcasm

I would almost venture a bet that if the IDF surrounded the embassy like they did Arafat's compound, things would start to become unglued within the embassy.

In terms of rocket ranges the Hizballah enemy has should be published, especially if the liberal mass media refuses.

Since Israel is in a state of total war against the Iranian armed enemy in Lebanon, if a breaking story which could harm Israeli or American lives has not been cleared by the IDF for publication, everyone must use extreme caution in order no additional lives are at risk - or if the Iranian enemy is attempting to use their typical disinformation.

All I am saying is all of us must demonstrate caution in reporting news since our allies could be harmed. I recall in the mid late 1990's I made an educated guess involving something brewing along Israel's southern border. The guess proved far too accurate. I learned the hard way.

This is only the beginning of a much broader war which the US is already deeply involved in Iraq and Afghanistan. Israeli forces are fighting the very same enemy in different locations.

I would almost venture a bet that if the IDF surrounded the embassy like they did Arafat's compound, things would start to become unglued within the embassy.

I don't think the IDF could control the situation on the ground in Beirut as it can in Ramallah, even leaving aside whether something like that would call down a full invasion by the Syrians and Iranians and burn the last vetiges of cooperation from the Lebanese.

Lebanon seems to be about as reluctant to take on Israel head-on as it is to take on Hezbollah -- at this rate, they could tip either way.

I think if the IDF takes out Hezbollah's operational capability with a minimum of civilian casualties, Lebanese forces might be ready to handle the cleanup -- and the locals might see Lebanese government forces as a happy alternative to both Hezbollah and the IDF. If we're lucky -- and we can only pray -- the Lebanese people who got rid of Syrian troops in the north last year will find the same courage and outrage to get rid of Syria's proxies in the south.

Missing Israeli Soldiers Helt at the Iranian Embassy in Beirut

This sounds very logical to me. Plus it fits Iran's incredible current cockiness, just daring the US or Israel to touch them.

I guess that's possible. I know I'm not putting much stock in the story until something else comes out on it and will be very skeptical if s/he posts again.

I'll bet I'm not the first to say it, but isn't it ironic that, if this story is true, the same Iranians who violated American sovereignty at the embassy in Tehran in '79 will be claiming protected legal status for the embassy in Beirut?
