He was a fine man, and a good conservative Republican. This is a sad day for all Arkansans.

Was this unexpected? (had he been sick)? I don't follow AR politics, so I don't know anything about him.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -- Lt. Gov. Win Rockefeller, the unassuming billionaire who last year abandoned a race for Arkansas governor - a post once held by his father - died Sunday after unsuccessful treatments for a blood disorder, his office said. He was 57.

Lt. Governor Win Rockefeller returned to Little Rock from Seattle July 8 after his second bone marrow transplant to treat a blood condition did not achieve the desired results. He will coordinate his further treatments through UAMS.

Rockefeller underwent two bone marrow transplants through the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, a consortium of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, UW Medicine, and Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center.

What a great name he had "Win". The campaign slogan writes itself. "Win with Win!" "Win - one for the Gipper!" "Let's finally have a "Win" in this state!"

May he rest in peace.

Lt. Gov. Win Rockefeller, who recently returned to Arkansas after unsuccessful treatment in Seattle for a disorder that can lead to leukemia, was in a hospital intensive-care unit Tuesday with complications from pneumonia, a source told The Associated Press.

Rockefeller, 57, who quit this year's governor's race after being diagnosed last year with myeloproliferative disorder, had two bone marrow transplants through Seattle's Cancer Care Alliance on Oct. 7 and March 29.

Both failed to adequately treat the disorder and Rockefeller returned to Arkansas on Saturday.

A source close to the Rockefeller family said the lieutenant governor was in an intensive care unit room at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences after suffering complications due to pneumonia.

Sorry to read this, although I'd seen previous threads that his condition was not good. Prayers for his family and all who cared for him. He's now in the Lord's hands and out of pain, its own blessing.

That's a darned shame. I know it was just a few days ago I was reading his second transfusion was unsuccessful. Rest in peace, WR, and may God comfort your loved ones.

Thanks for the info. Very sad.
I just lost an Aunt to cancer (a Republican NM State Representative). I know it's always been around, but it's such a terrible disease.
Prayers for peace for his family, and prayers that he is now with our Lord.
