I can't find any statements by Kerry about all of this. Not that I care what that barfbag has to say, but just to make note of it. Could also be that my searching skills are subpar.

"a situation where it is obvious that one or more of their enemies intended to strike first, but Israel beat them to it. "

It needs to be VERY obvious, since Israel is already not the most popular country in the world.

Somehow, I don't think that will happen, since Clinton's buddy Yassar Arafat is dead, and Sharon is in a coma.

I pray that the new administration in Israel is TOO smart to fall for their crapola.

I wonder if Kerry has said anything

good thought! His web site has a 7/6 statement "Kerry Calls for CIA’s bin Laden Unit to Reopen Immediately" -- Up to date as usual. You cant blame him for his caution the nuances of the situation are adsorbing.

I htink that "exercise restraint" line is just boilerplate inserted into ny statement on the Middle East. Besides, Israel IS exercising restraint: they are warning civilians to get out of the way, and they haven't bombed Iran yet.

"Exercising restraint", if I hear that one more time I'm gonna hurl.

That's just diplo-speak.

It means:

"We don't have a problem with what you're doing, as you're doing it now. But please don't nuke anybody without warning, OK?"

Think Gulf war 1

where is the ground invasion? there is no way to dismantle hezbollah totally, with just air and artillery strikes. they can be weakened, but not rooted out permanently

There's the delicate issue of foreign national evacuations to attend to...

"This is World War III," Gingrich said. And once that's accepted, he said calls for restraint would fall away:

"Israel wouldn't leave southern Lebanon as long as there was a single missile there. I would go in and clean them all out and I would announce that any Iranian airplane trying to bring missiles to re-supply them would be shot down. This idea that we have this one-sided war where the other team gets to plan how to kill us and we get to talk, is nuts."

There is a public relations value, too. Gingrich said that public opinion can change "the minute you use the language" of World War III. The message then, he said, is "'OK, if we're in the third world war, which side do you think should win?"

That is a point I overlooked there. I'm not sure what the result of that will ultimately be.

...and they haven't bombed Iran yet.

That one has me chuckling. I'll have to use that if anyone dares tell me Israel should use restraint.

"an Iranian-made, radar-guided C-802 missile."

Correction : It was a Chinese made, Iranian purchased C-802 Silkworm missile.

Yes Israel via Ginsburg said that yesterday. That they would give us time to get our people out.

Wolfie is doing his best to get Dan Bartlett to say that Israel is the bad guy...and it isn't working...

Wolf REALLY, REALLY dislikes Israel it seems to me.

yes, but only from beirut. israel needs to cut off the southern part of the country and trap, to the degree possible, hezbollah assets and people inside that zone. they have bombed the roads, but I would have thought a quick blitz like armored column invasion was imminent.

And something about how Israel has a right to self defense but must exercise restraint.

I'd say that Israel is exercising restraint or Damascus and Tehran would be holes in the ground by now.

How about that...the Geraldo of Al Jazeera..

Oh please. Has the creep performed any of his stunts yet? Like staging a scene where he dodges a Katyusha rocket.
