I know. LOL
HAIFA Street here is always on Condition Red. And the explosions we heard really did come from the southwest - the direction of Haifa Street.
I could make a crack about how we could take a lesson from them, but I'd be accused of trying to get another illegal immigration thread going.
man, even CNNI is doing canned stories...

"Major escalation hitting Hafia like this"
Even bigger is that Iran is now admitting that there are Iranian forces in Lebanon, directing/assisting the attacks and that it had supplied long range missles to Hezbollah.
The only way to put a stop to this is to nuke Iran and Syria into oblivion....and the US needs to make the first nuclear strike.
DEBKA
At least 8 civilians killed, 20-30 injured, in heavy Hizballlah rocket barrage of Haifa, Acre and Nahariya from Lebanon. At least 20 rockets counted in metropolitan Haifa - Upper Hadar, Krayot and Haifa Bay
July 16, 2006, 10:22 AM (GMT+02:00)
Most of the casualties, six in serious condition, at the main railway terminal near Checkpoint in Haifa. Hizballah reports improved Grad rockets fired in its deadliest attack so far in reprisal for air raids against Beirut. Their range is 35-40 km. Smoke clouds rise above Haifa Bay site of big port, industries and refineries. Close to a million residents of affected area and south advised to take shelter indoors and heed sirens. Heavy peak hour traffic heading into Israel's third largest city, Haifa, turned around and headed out of the city. Nahariya to the north is under Hizballah attack for fifth day, as are western Galilee moshavim.
Israeli artillery has opened heavy fire on sources of rocket fire in Lebanon.
Gathering from their response the last couple of days, I think they will respond with strength. The days over there are our nights, but I have been staing up as late as I can to keep up. My mother was a Hebrew so I have always had special interest in Isreal.
DEBKA
Israeli air force has targeted 11 Hizballah rocket crews in last 48 hours, two Saturday night
July 16, 2006, 10:19 AM (GMT+02:00)
The Israel navy continues to shell rocket stations on the Lebanese coast. The warships apply new counter-measures against Hizballah missiles.
FOX on live now.
In the S. Beirut suburb of Dahya, the Hizballahs command and communications compound was pounded; in the Beqaa Valley, Israeli warplanes raided Hizballah weapons stores, command posts, training camps and logistic centers. A Katyusha launch squad was struck. Also singled out for demolition were Lebanese army radar stations in the ports of Tripoli, Junya, Beirut and Sidon, which guided to target the Iran-made C-802 missile that struck the Israeli warship off Beirut Friday, July 14. One Israeli crewman was killed, three are missing. Israel continues to maintain its air, land and sea blockade of Lebanon and strikes against roads, bridges and airports - to restrict Hizballah terrorist movements and hamper their procurement of fresh weapons supplies and manpower.
Also destroyed Saturday, were the Beirut premises of Hamas senior operatives Muhammed Nazal and Muhammed Hamdan.
petrochemical installations in Israel's third-largest city of Haifa.
In a statement read on its TV station Al-Manar, Hizbullah said its military wing fired rockets on the port city but deliberately avoided hitting the petrochemical installations.
"The Islamic Resistance warns the Zionist of committing any new folly because it (Hizbullah) deliberately avoided the petrochemical installations," said the statement. "But next time, it (Hizbullah) will not spare anything in Haifa and its surroundings."
Perhaps daisycutters or MOABs would be better.
Let's not be hasty with the nukes. There are a LOT of Americans located right between Syria and Iran.
Yes, I saw that - calling Plame "a real life Jane Bond."
Why did Fox cut off their reporter? No wonder their ratings are tanking...
Unreal, why on earth does the stupid lady on FNC insist on trying to interrupt her way into Mike Tobin's live report?! How dumb is that? Cut him off when there's actual news in order to go back to a canned story?
They were the only ones still live and now we've got the stupid rerun...and he was there with plenty to still say.
I really had hopes that Fox might have better coverage after doing a better job of staying live this afternoon...guess not.
Meanwhile Dan Rather's rerun is over on CNN where he says the Bush National Guard story he ran was accurate.
I don't want nukes flying ANYWHERE unless they are an absolute necessity.
But, if you ARE going to use nukes, hit them where it'll really hurt....MECCA.
Does she think she gets to go home if she can get him off air? She probably thought she was being generous after trying twice to cut him off, but then giving him another minute each time till her voice over finally shut him down.
Very lame. I'm sure it's not really up to her, but seeing as she's never been one I'm crazy about over there, she did nothing to gain any respect in my book! LOL!
The Bradley's 25 mm. cannon with high explosive ammunition is also very effective against technicals. That reminds me of the remarkable "Taxi" story from the first incursion into Baghdad by the 3rd ID. The 3rd ID had paused to regroup and reload when a taxi loaded with explosive started driving towards them. An officer was so startled that the only thing he could think to say was "Taxi!", instead of giving an order like "fire on the taxi." Just like a cab driver responding to his call of "Taxi", the taxi started driving right towards the officer, but a Bradley next to the officer blasted it with the 25 mm cannon from about 100 feet away and that was the end of the taxi threat. The account I read didn't mention any secondary explosions.
