I was brought up to respond to "inquiries", etc., and it seems rude to ignore pings. But unless someone is specifically asking me a question or answering a question that I asked, I often don't respond.

Thank you for the advice. :) I needed it!

Okay hubby is running around cleaning and is clearly growing irritated that I'm on the pc and listening to news and not helping. I'd better go help "do stuff." :)

Of course, later, he'll be playing F.E.A.R. for a long time while I make dinner and pick up. ;)

Syria is the weak link in the chain, no doubt.

Were Syria to quit the alliance, Iran might well fold and allow Hezbollah in Lebanon to be sent the way of Saddam.

In fact, even the appearance that Syria was having doubts, the contents of one backchannel conversation with a western power leaked to the media, would raise questions in Iranian minds as to the integrity of the alliance.

This situation is, from the historical view, probably a more classic example of nuclear brinksmanship than was the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Even a slight edge, applied at a strategically decisive time, could change the course of the future for an extended period of time.

Bliter is becoming disproportionately hysterical at the thought of the destruction of his beloved Hizbullah. He is a sad and pathetic soul.

I haven't seen such a discussion, and I suspect that question will be moot, one way or the other, by the time Bush leaves office. Iran doesn't have that much time left.

Correction of your correction :
(1)C-802s are built by Iran under licence from China. An advanced guidance system for the C-802 has been developed in a joint project from our good friend in Iran and N Korea.

The C-802 is NOT A SILKWORM, C-802 is NOT A SILKWORM, C-802 is NOT A SILKWORM, C-802 is NOT A SILKWORM, C-802 is NOT A SILKWORM, C-802 is NOT A SILKWORM, C-802 is NOT A SILKWORM

Rebel just posted on another thread:

Still here in Beirut. Sunday evening and it is extremely quiet. Normally the waterfront would be packed; today it was almost deserted. Very few explosions today. A few more days and I hope to be reporting from Cyprus on my way home to Chicago.

INTENSE FIGHTING - CNN

Israel pounds Beirut after Haifa hit by rockets

Buildings are demolished in southern Beirut after the Hizbollah stronghold was attacked by Israeli air strikes, July 16, 2006. Israeli air raids shook Beirut on Sunday, the fifth day of a devastating assault on Hizbollah and Lebanon that has prompted no U.N. Security Council action and only a mild plea for restraint from Israel's U.S. ally. (Adnan Hajj/Reuters)

If F.E.A.R. is an internet game by all means buy him a laptot and wireless connect with yours.

Then sit him down and let him play the game while you do the important stuff like "keep up with the FR threads". Problem solved.

Iran said Sunday that Western incentives to halt its nuclear program were an "acceptable basis" for talks, and it is ready for detailed negotiations.

Maybe they're scared.
