I thought this could be a new thread for today. BurbankKarl's thread did well yesterday.
MSNBC reporting at least 15 Israelis killed in rocket attacks.
Wasn't it the Arab League, some years ago...that came to an abrupt ending to a meeting, because some of the members were arguing over the MUSTACHES???
I seem to recall something like that...
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Gunmen kidnapped the head of Iraq's Olympic committee and more than a dozen employees Saturday after storming a sports conference in Baghdad, police said. The kidnappers wore camouflage Iraqi police uniforms and security guards outside the meeting said they did not interfere because they thought the gunmen were legitimate law enforcement, police said.
Ahmed al-Hijiya, president of the committee, was taken in the assault, which came a day after the coach of Iraq's national wrestling team was killed by kidnappers, said police Lt. Thaer Mahmoud.
Others taken Saturday included the deputy head of the Olympic committee, Ammar Jabbar al-Saadi; the chairman of the Taekwondo Federation, Jamal Abdul-Karim; and the chief of the Boxing Federation Union, Bashar Mustafa.
Two guards were killed, one while trying to flee the building.
Interior Minister Jawad al-Bolani told reporters that the kidnapping was carried out by "gangs" and not security forces.
There were conflicting reports on the number of people taken but Maj. Gen. Adnan Thabet, commander of the ministry's special forces, told The Associated Press that al-Hijiya and 20 others were kidnapped.
The Sunni coach of Iraq's national wrestling team, Mohammed Karim Abid Sahib, was seized with one of his wrestlers Thursday as they left a sports center to buy sweets in the northern neighborhood of Kazimiyah, where the team was preparing for a tournament.
The coach was shot to death while trying to escape later in the day. The wrestler escaped, according to police and wrestling officials.
The team pulled out of the tournament in the United Arab Emirates.
Shades of Munich...
I know Cardinal Sodano needs to shut up...
The great Arab walk out.
It is part of their culture. It prevents people from getting so heated that they start hitting each other.
The West could use such a custom.
I'm thinking that Meshal (Hamas) is ticked at Nasrallah (Hezbollah) for stealing his press. LOL
I am expecting the coordinates of the location/sources of those incoming projectiles to be provided to Israel so that they may be able to respond ASAP.
Reading the blogs from the region in the link Peach posted earlier, the people of Lebanon are wondering why Syria isn't being attacked instead of their country because they blame Syria for everything that is happening and has happened leading up to this current situation.

Peretz may designate northern Israel as "A special state"
Defense Minister Amir Peretz may declare the region of northern Israel as "A special state", following the repeated Katyusha rockets attacks.
If the north is declared being in "a special state", security officials will be able to prevent schools from opening and operate essential institutions. The government will be discussing the issue on Sunday. (Ronny Sofer)

HAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa...GOOD point!
And one that illustrates how difficult it is for the Western mind to grasp the Middle Eastern mind.....
Every time I've discussed Iraq, Iran etc with my son and start to ask a question- he says "BUT MA...that's not the way they THINK"....he's said it so many times..I've finally "gotten it".....
Plus underwear that cannot be salvaged. Sofalad said that some people panicked a little, but all in all, it was quite calm.
His words: "We spent four hours in the bunker, playing cards, listening to music and bullsh*tting. We're packing up and moving out to Tel Aviv. Everyone's fine. A couple of the girls are a little scared but we're comforting them."
Dad to Sofalad...."I Bet. Just behave yourself."
Sofalad to Dad..."We're fine. I love you. I'll call later".
Someone said yesterday, that the difference between the Arabs and Israelis is that to Israel, civilians injured, is a mistake. To Arabs, civilians injured, is a victory. That explains it very nicely.
Hezbolla has a lot of the missiles secured in heavily-populated civilian areas and were also reported to be leaving the cities under cover of fleeing citizens... basically, the terrorists are cowards who hide among women and children so the photos coming out shows Israel killing women and children.
In this image made from television and released by CNN, Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora is interviewed on Friday July 14, 2006. Israel tightened its seal on Lebanon, blasting its air and road links to the outside world and bringing its offensive to the capital for the first time Friday to punish Hezbollah _ and with it, the country _ for the capture of two Israeli soldiers. (AP Photo/CNN)
Siniora asks envoys of major powers to back cease-fire
and those Hizzbullah missiles with range to hit Tel-Aviv have pretty big payloads (600kg)
They need to think about letting the soldiers go and getting rid of terrorists in accord with the resolution that hasn't been followed. That's the emails I get from Lebanon, they want to rise up now that Israel's driving them out so they can be rid of them.
The average joes are the last to figure things out.
Syria holds the operational command centers, the front lines are in south Lebanon, and the grandmasters hold council in Tehran.
Why, just the other day, Meshal proclaimed on tape, "I am the man."
They are afraid of Hezbullah.
Can you imagine smuggling explosives in your baby's diaper? How about under a supposedly sick child lying on a gurney in an ambulance?
