Arab states take dim view of 'adventurism' by Hizbullah
Beirut Daily Star ^ | July 15, 2008

Posted on 07/14/2006 4:27:04 PM PDT by Shermy

US allies Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan indirectly accused Hizbullah on Friday of harming Arab interests but also condemned the Israeli assault on Lebanon The remarks came amid fears of a wider regional conflict after President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad boasted Friday that Israel was not powerful enough to take on Iran and warned the Jewish state not to attack regional ally Syria.

While not naming Hizbullah, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and Jordan's King Abdul-lah II warned of the risk of "the region being dragged into 'adventurism' that does not serve Arab interests," according to a joint statement published by Amman's official Petra news agency after the two met in Cairo.

Similar language was used earlier by Saudi Arabia, which indirectly accused Hizbullah of adventurism in provoking Israel's onslaught on Lebanon and putting all Arab nations at risk.

"It is necessary to make a distinction between legitimate resistance [to occupation] and irresponsible adventurism adopted by certain elements within the state," an official Saudi source told the Saud Press Agency late Thursday.

"These elements ... risk putting in danger all the Arab countries and their achievements before these countries have said a word," the source added.

The Saudi position is aimed at preventing the Middle East from sliding into yet another destructive war and at upholding Arab interests, Mohammad al-Zalfa, a member of the appointed Shura Council, said Friday.

The Egyptian and Jordanian leaders urged the Lebanese government "to establish its authority over all Lebanese territory" as they condemned and called for an immediate halt to Israeli military escalation in Gaza and Lebanon.

They also highlighted "the need for all parties in the region to be responsible and not contribute to escalation that could drag the region into a dangerous situation."

Heightening fears of an all-out conflict in the region, Ahmadinejad warned Israel against striking Iran and extending

its offensive in Lebanon to neighboring Syria and said such a move would amount to an attack against the Islamic world, the official Iranian news agency reported Friday.

"The Zionist regime does not dare to cast a look with bad intentions at Iran," the president was quoted as saying by state television.

"If Israel commits another act of idiocy and aggresses Syria, this will be the same as an aggression against the entire Islamic world and it will receive a stinging response," he said in a phone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Bashar Assad.

"The Israeli aggressions are a result of the weakness of a puppet regime that is on its way toward disappearing," state television quoted him as saying.

In London, Syrian Ambassador Sami Khiyami told the BBC his country wants to stay out of the conflict between Israel and Lebanon and is trying to restrain Hizbullah from firing missiles into northern Israel.

"It's really seeking to ease down tensions and to reach a settlement that would stop completely the violence."

Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyya slammed Israel's "insane war" against Lebanon.

"This war must stop. Lebanon and the Lebanese people must be protected," Haniyya said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul called on all sides in the Middle East to speedily cease fire before it is too late. "Deep instability can occur in the region," Gul warned. - Agencies

Let all these camel humpers sweat for a while. I do hope Israel has no plan on stopping what they realize must continue.

This article does not reflect the reality on the ground in the middle east. Large fractions of the arab and persian populations have been successfully distracted from the corruption and incompetance of their own governments and have bought into the lie that the existance of Israel is the cause of most problems in their part of the world. That there are some Lebanese Christians who think otherwise is no surprise, but they are a minority.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad boasted Friday that Israel was not powerful enough to take on Iran and warned the Jewish state not to attack regional ally Syria.

Sure, keep convincing yourself of that you beedey-eyed rodent. You'll then be unpleasantly surprised one day when bombers are flying over Damascus and Tehran and suddenly your nuclear program is a glowing heap of wreckage. Then you can try to convince everyone the holocaust that's coming Iran's way didn't happen either.

Rodent's rhetoric sounds like the bluster of the fearful to me.

Eh, just some small EMPs over Iran's oil refineries will knock out their economy.

Well, yeah.

The subterfuge will be exposed if Hizbullah doesn't stop their bullah-ying. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan are Islamic states and they are "just acting" friendly with the USA in the hopes of eventually taking over and creating the Sharia-United-Arab-States-of-America.

Why normal people can't fathom that is beyond me.

Keep Safe, Troups.
God Bless America and the President.

The permission has been given for an Israeli alliance with Lebanon to drive out Hezbollah.

The Saudis have washed their hands of the matter as have Egypt and Jordan.

It is now up to the two to develop a plan of action to eliminate Hezbollah for ever..

Did I mention to you I had a conversation with a woman claiming to be 'palestinian' the other day?

I told her there was no such thing.

She said: "Well that's what we call ourselves."

I replied: "I can call myself the Space Shuttle but that doesn't mean I can strap a satellite on my ass and make it into orbit."

I doubt we'll be conversing much again.

Saudi Arabia on Crisis in Lebanon: “A distinction must be made between legitimate resistance and uncalculated adventures"

14/07/2006
Asharq Al-Awsat

http://www.asharqalawsat.com/english/news.asp?section=1&id=5628

Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat-- Saudi Arabia on Thursday blamed “elements” inside Lebanon for the escalation of violence with Israel , without naming Hezbollah directly.
“A distinction must be made between legitimate resistance and uncalculated adventures undertaken by elements inside [Lebanon] and those behind them without recourse to the legal authorities and consulting and coordinating with Arab nations,” a statement published on the official news agency SPA said.

“These elements should bear responsibility for their irresponsible actions and they alone should end the crisis they have created.”

Israel struck Beirut airport and military bases and blockaded Lebanese port on Thursday, intensifying reprisals that have killed 55 civilians in Lebanon since Hezbollah kidnapped two Israeli soldiers on Wednesday.

“They are exposing Arab nations and their gains to grave dangers without these nations having a say in the matter,” said the statement, which reiterated support for Palestinian and Lebanese resistance, against Israeli occupation.

My dad was a general in the Egyptian army. His comments are always so informative especially if they were related to a war that broke out. He had this to say about Lebanon:

This idiot Nasrallah. He is so funny. He keeps on issuing threats, he has no idea what he is talking about. What Israel is doing to him now is just gentle padding on the shoulders. Abou Shakha dah didn't see what we saw. Israel fought on 3 fronts in 1967 and it was hell. I was there, I saw it all. He has no tanks, no boats, he has nothing except a few toys he got from Iran and it seems abu shakha dah don't know that Israel confronted 3 of the most powerful armies in the region at the same time. If Israel wanted to brutally crush him it can do so in 1 hour.

*Abu Shakha dah literally means "this guy with the piss". We use this slang term to refer to a grown up whose capabilities is of a baby who wets himself.
